AUTHORS: Makaroyp L. L., Vlasoyj Yu. G. SOV12o-12o-1-29163 TITLE: -------------- 0 The Thermodynamics of the Solid Solutions CsC1 - RbCl at 25 (Termodinamika tverdykh rastyoroy CsCl - RbC1 pri 250) PERIODICAL: Doklady Akademii nauk SSSR, 1958P Vol- 12o, Nr 19 PP. 111 - 113 (USSR) ABSTRACT: The present paper determines the system CsCl - RbC1 - H 20 at 250 in order to determine the limits of the existence of the solid solution CaC1 - RbC1 and in order to investigate its thermody- namic properties. The experimental data as well as the results of the calculations carried out according to the relations by A. V. Storonkin and M. M. Shullts (Ref 2) are given in a table. The state of equilibrium between -the liquid and solid phase was determined by means of a method elaborated by V. G. Khlopin which uses the isothermal removal of oversaturation with subsequent long term mixing (Io hours). The solid phase was investigated according to the method by Shreynemakerap using the radioactive 6 isotopes Rba and cs134 for the analysis. The experimental re- sults compiled in a table show the following:CsCl and RbCl form Card 1/3 solid solutions with a gap of mixability reaching from 10)7 to The Thermodynamics of the Solid Solutions CsCl - RbCl SOVAo-12o-1-29/63 ~at 250 93,3 molecular percent. The coefficients of the activity in the saturated solutions remain constant within the limits of error along the whole length of the isothermal line of solubility. In the solid phase the coefficients of the activity of the solvent on which the crystal structure of the solid solution depends are with great accuracy equal to unity. The coefficients of the activity of the dissolved substance maintain a constant value different from unity. In the latter case the deviation from the mean value is, however, greater. A table and a diagram show the results of the final calculation of the change of the chemical potentials A pC.Cj and '?!~NNb .1 and of the chapge of the free energy in the formation of the solid solution CsC RbCl. The solid solution forms correcponding to the conditiondl~ V)z z, where X2 denotes the molecular proportion of the dissolved substance. The composition of the saturated solutions is determined by the coefficients of the activity of the two components. There are Card 2/3 1 figure, 2 tables, and 3 references, 2 of whichare Soviet. Abstract : The importance of twTerature and light is brought out in the tomato's resistance to a simble streak. It has been established that the large-scale development of streak proceeds with lowereO mean daily temperature and a drop in solar radiation. The tonatols hardinc3ss to streak is increased when conditons are created which are optimal in the hothouse for its culture. This stu- dy was made at the Moscow Station for Plant Protection. An expectant method of conducting labour was carried out - surgical Intervention In eclampsia is consider- ed by the author as harmful. Spontaneous laboUr took place in 403 women. Caenarean section was performed on 3 patients, forceps were applied in 78 cases, version - in 2, metreurysis in 2. craniotomy in 11 ( in I instance on a live foetus), 'frank breech presentation in 3 cases. Out of the 536 children 89 (16.676) were stillborn - .15 of them died prior to arrival of patients at the hospital. Puerperal complications occurred In 10.1% of patients. Ten parturients died (1.9%). The author states that this method of treating eclampsia produced the lowest number, in the world's perti- nent literature, of maternal mortality (1.9%, and 0.4%. when neglected and compli- cated cases are discounted. Avtomatika. i radioelektronika, no.-8, 1961, 33-34, abstract 8 V266 (V ab. Avtomat. rerrulirovaniye aviadvigateley, no. 2, M., Oborongiz, 0 1960, 24-52) TM. Some aviation nachinery liar, time constants 0.2 - 0.3 sec., i.e. have a relatively small inertia, The analogue study of such objects, fitted ~~ith their actual control equipment is cumber- some. This is due to the fact that it is difficult to design trans- ducer arrangements, whosc dynamic properties would have no effect on the dynamics of the analyzed system. The re-quirements are anal- yzed as applied to the dynamic properties of transducers. Their allowable errors are determined from the conditions of these errors Card 1/2 ,30491 S/194Z61/000/008/027/092 Analogue determination.. . D201/D304 being equal to those obtained Mhen the oxact object is replaced by the one vith approximate properties, Requirements are formulated as to the dynamic properties of transducers when simulatirg systems with delay. It is sho-on that the systematic error of an analogue consists of the folloving errors: introduction of transducers, re- placing an exact system by an approximate one, replaceyment of a non-linear system and, eventually errors introduced by an approxi- mate determination only of the object parar.-ieters, To determine the system's analogue errors it is enough to know the resulting linear- ized and the simplified system describing the motion of the object together with the transducer transfer function. If the object ex- hibits a delay, this delay should be partly reproduced by the trans- ducer which would lower the requirements as to the transducer per- formance. It is shown that the analogue errors, as obtained when loading the system by the analyzed regulator, do not exceed those of the analo ue itself including the transducers, 3 references.
