ABSTRACT: A coke formation process was investiCated by direct electric
heating using a special device. The coke formation was inves-
tiG.--ted in re,;-,ard to various factors bearing on the properties
and the quantity of the yield of solid, liquid and Gaseous
products. The measurements of the electric conductivity sho-.,,,ed
that coke of a granular size of 0,25 mm has the least electric
conductivity. Also, coal dust redubes the electric conductivity.
The maximum electric conductivity was found in coke of a
granular size of 0 - 2 mm. The influence of the rate of heating
on the gas emission in coke fornation was invest i,-ated. With -1

Abstract i Our observations on 62 patients with diseases of the
mitral valve, oor pt:.:,monale, arteriosclerotic heart disease,
and hypertension, all accompanied by various degrees of
circulatory failure, have shown that erysimin (in doses of
1-1.5 ml per day) has normalized cardiac activity in cases
of grade I and II circulatory failure, and has had a diuretic
effect. It caused no cummulative effect during a prolonged

ABSTRACT- When comparing alternative schemes for the establishment of power
plants from the economic point view, it is recommended for the
iime being to make such comparisons by the method of redenption
period. It should be considored here that not the total amount is
invested immediately, but within several years. The building
terms, the order of investments, and the variations of the annual
production costs are to be taken into account. The authors present
a method which takes full account of the influence exerted by
time upon the eco4omy of the objects to be compared. The Method is
based on the successive development of the principle of redemption.
Before employing formula (1) of the method of redemption periodt
capital investments are to be calculated according to formulas(2)

within a given building year, while formula (4) indicates the
total building costs for the time at which work has been finished.
The building costs are compared with the future operating costs
according to formula (1). Formula (5) is then written down. It
allows for a determination of the capital investments for the
object concerned according to a

discussion. Finally, formula 1 is written down. However, it
holds only for the case in which each variation ensures the same
energy out ut. Otherwise it is necessary to base calculations on
