Primary tumours of the cortical parenchyma are unknown. The cornea is less
resistant to the invasion of intra- or extra-ocular malignant turnotirs than is the
sclera. Mali-nant turnours grow only secondarily, per continuitatcm, into tile
cornea. This miqht be explained by the avascularity of the cornea. Cortical in-
filtration by malignant turnours may follow (lie cpithelial route with extra-ocillar
tumours, and the endotliclial route when a turnour is intra-ocular. The great
resistance of the Icns to invasion by tumour cells can be explained not only by its
avascularity, but also by its compactness and low metabolism Tumorous infiltration
becomes visible in the cornea wricn the latter has been in contact with the turnour
for a long time. The localization of the turnour cells and their invasion into the
cornea are connected with the bioarchitcctonic structure of the corneal tissue. The
lymph spaces between the lamellac permit entrance of the tumour cells. Even
without direct contact, a malignant tumour may cause degenerative processes,
endothelial or epithelial erosions. These are attributable to the toxic elket of tile
tumour. Such an erosion opens the way to the invasion of turnour cells. Tile fact
that in the case of tumorous infiltration of tile sclera the cornea is not involved
leads to the conclusion that the circulation of the cornea is separate from that of the

Abstract The change in viscosity in a magnetic field was investigated
with pure 02 and with mixtures of 02-CH4 and 02-11, with the
aid of cylindrical capillaries and porous riate-riale. (Pef-

mothod is an improvement of the vane microminomater method
(Reforat Zhur Fizika, 1956, No 9, 25375)- The results of the
experiments with mixtures of gases, containing 40 and 80
percent 0 J, gave the dependence of the viscosity on the mag-
netic fieid and on the concentration of the 02- It is shown
that it is possible to use this phenomenon for the analysis

high-speed steels at the 123 August' factory, with reference to the
studies on vhich the technological parmacters are based. Technologi-
