Orig Pub Acta, phys. polon., 1956, 15, No 1, 43-47 Abstract A coati-"uatiorz of Stasvevski's investigations (Referat Zh. According to Cook (Gook, S~-P, Itilcsophical Magasir-e,, 1902, ~ 471) the mutual at- tractl-~anr r-:f sphii~xr-~s i,-- parallel- to the axis cf the tube occurs when the dlsta~--ces between'- them is less than 'their ra-dius. The authors have established that the forces acting between two spheres, one of which is freely suspended2 and the other which is clamped, depends: 1) on the size of these spheres and on the d1sta;zces between them, 2) bn the intensity and frequency of the 8oumA field. A method d4 described for mounting accuritely the spheres along the axis of thetube. The diameters of the spheres and their distances from each other were vared during the experiAent. Both repdsion ai-4A attraction forces were observed. It is shown that in some cages, in co:;zt-radictio:ti with Andrade Is statement, repulsion farces may occur eve-ri at very small distances between the spheres. In crude tar (ZK "Blachownia") he determined an average content of 11%. By his experiments, the author intended to increase the naphthalene yield from tar to 9%, or at least 7%. He compares the results of five methods as to their economy and required investments on the basis of a capacity of 1000 t of tar/24 hr at the above plant. Although the net costs of the method of redistillation are somewhat higher than that of "Proabd", the investments here-are considerably lower. Besides, pyridine phenolates and -sulfates are also separated in the method of re- distillation. They are processed in a separate wor~sdepartment. The latter is provided by a special works department for H2so4 regeneration. In conclusion, the yield of pressed naphthalene by the method of redistillation (8.25%) is higher than by the "Proabd" method referred to tar. There are 5 tables. Card 3/3 STATELOV, KH. This complex study of the properties of-sitalls was nee-: ~essary for organizing the production of new high-strength and heat-resistant (low.-i pan 11- therma" ex sion) microcrystalline glass materials (sitalls) and glassware.. De' ,sity was taken as the most sensitive indicator of phase transformations occurring 'during hea-b-treatment of the glass material. The proportion of the glassy, phase,. Temperature 'dependence of absolute shrinkage calculated fron, the.densities of ci-istalline and lassy materials followedthe same pattern as that of density but the expansion'. .!started at 1'35C only. These changes in the dimensions of the samples are considered'', o be of great practical importance, since the changes in mechanical trength are associated with crystallization shrinkage. Transverse strength was found tobe aximum (40.7 kg/MM2) at 1050C, which-was also the temperature of the maximum_closed~, ,~porosity. High mechanical strength in this case is attributed tothe~ formation of Tine crystals associated with the high strengt1i of thin glassy interlaye s. 'In con-I iclusion, a decrease in the-amounit of work connected-with final adjustment of glass- I' ware dimensions to specifications was made possible by correcting the dimensions in~',_'_` ':the processes of extrusion, casting, etc.'I, followed by heat treatment. It is necessary to treat the weeds on the boundaries and sides of irrigating water with sodium arsenate, mineral oil emulsion or albikhtol pasts; the first time after mites and lice emerge from wintering, a second time when buds open on mulberry trees, and the third time at the beginning of cotton vegetation.
