Kustract: An investigation was conducted in the Kharkov
Zootechnical Institute in 1956. Tho spern of rams
and bull was diluted in proportions of 1:5 to
1:100 with solutions of NaCl, Na-S04 and glucose
with different concentrations. The spermatozoa
of the raw and bulls tolerated the hyotonic solu-
tions of NaCl better than the hypertonicones.

Coverage: This is the 13th edition of the first volume of a work on higher
mathematics in 5 volumes. This volume covers variables and func-
tions, the theory of limits, derivatives, integralst series and their
application to the approximate calculation of functions, functions
of many variables, complex numbers, higher algebra and the integra-
tion of functions. The main part of the text in the book is printed
in larger type, and can be read independently. Examples, some
additional questions, andnew material of a more complex character are
printed in smaller type.
Purpose: Recommended as a textbook in mathematical for state universi-
ties and for technical colleges with expanded programs.

systems containing such elements as condensers with barium titanate dielectric
(G.I. Skanavi~, Elektrichestvo, No 7, 43 (1949)) or self-inductors with permalloy
cores (Ya.L. Snoyek, Issledovaniya v Oblasti. Novykh Ferromagnitnykh Materialov,
Investigations in the Field of New Ferromatnetic Materials, 1949)leads to the
equation x"+G(x,xl)+g(x)=O. The form, amplitude, and frequency of self-excited
oscillation of this eq are found by the Andronov-Khaykin method of small parameter
(A.V11 Dragilev, Prik Nat i Mekh 16, No 1, 85 (1952)) or by the method of elliptic
functions (V.I. Smirnov, Kurs Vysshey Matematiki, Course of Higher Mathematics, 3,
1951; V.V. Stepanov, Prik Yat i Mekh 14, 3 (1950)). Finally the stationary ampli-
tude is obtained in the form of the ratio of two integrals with vquared elliptic
