tensinase activity in the blood from the renal vein of dogs was
investigated during the administration of angiotensin. Renin ac-

tivity decreased; when noradrenalin bitartrate was administered
simultanoously with the anriotensin,the renin activity increased.
Angiotensinase activity did not change under the ex~perimental con-

Moving coil (DeprL-z) relays METRA, type "RD" A2051AI26
of gold, alloyed with 10% nickel. Ncble contact-metals had to be used, since the
contact pressure of the "RD 10" is only 20 mg, that of the'RD 11" 150 mg. The
entire relay is enclosed by an aluminum cover with the wiring printed on it
(Photo I and Fig. 5). To avoid "sticking" of contacts, circuits with abrupt coil-
-current changes should be used. Windings of the "RD 10" are loaded by the coi
current with 1.0 - 1.5j.--W, those of the *RD 11" with 0.1.,"w. The maximum per-
missible overload is 0.25,,aw- Contact currents and voltages are listed in Table 1.
The maximum contact voltage is determined by the gap between the center and the
fixed contacts, which is 0.4 mm. The maximum contact-making interval at an inter-
nal impedance of 1,000-a is 0.5 see for the "RD 10" and 0.3 see for the "RD 11"
relay. Contact breaking Is effected immediately upon interruption of the coil
current. The shock-protected relays operate in a1:1 positions and within a temper-
ature range of -20 to +500C. The test-insulation voltage is 50,V. The newly de-
veloped "RD 13" moving-coil relay is meant to replace the "RD 11" relay and has
a central contact of platinum and fixed contacts of platinum alloyed with 10%
iridium. The relays described are expected to be widely used in the automation of

and activity factors of components, changes in the %ermodynamical potential,
entropy (A 3) and enthalpy (A H) of mixing liquid T1 and supercooled liquid Ag.
Isotherms of activity of the components in the liquid range of the Ag-T1 system
show ponitIve deviations from the 11noult's law only withih a NT, range from
about 0.1 to 0.4. The isotherm of Ag activity is characterized by a low negative
deviation.f~om this law. Mixing-enthalpies are positive over the whole concen-
tration range and show maximum values on the side of liquid solutions enriched
with Tl. These maxima attain 950 cal. g-atom of the solution. A-F~"J' A -H
and A H curves have an asymmetrical shape, and a maximum on the A if, curve Ag
appears on the side which is opposite to the enormous majority of other liquid
metal systems with sharply different atomic volumes of components. Values
'Y~-Ti 6---~A ~i and A S for the liquid Ag-Tl system are higher than for ideal and
regul solu ons. The basic cause of this fact is the great difference between
atomic volumes of Ag and Tl. Liquid Ag-Tl solutions behave like semiregular

ABSTRACT: A method of measuring the emf of electrolytes is proposed.
The measurements were carried out in the 673-920K temperature rangez
the emf values were calculated from the linear dependence of emf on
temperature. 1) The liquid alloys: Mg-Zn, Mg-Cd, Mg-Ga, Mg-In,
Mg-Sb, Mg-Al, although differing in their thermodynamic characteristics
are shown to belong to the same group: AGex < 0, Asex 4 0, AH < 0.
2) The liquid alloys: Mg-Tl, Hg-Sn, Mg-Pb, Mg-Bi are characterized by
negative values for 6G83c and AH over the entire range of concentrations

while the values ASex in the system are mostly positive on the side
of the eutectic poorest in magnesium which has the lowest melting
point. 3) The liquid alloys; Mg-Si and Mg-Ni belong to the group

AH appear on the side of intermediate phases of variable content or
compound showing congruent melting of temperatures higher than the
