TEXT: A new method is su--ested for manufacturing articles with complicated
shapes from Ftoroplast-4 order to cheapen their production, raise pro-
auc'tivity ana cut do%,,n waste. The method consists of the following tech-
nolo-ica'I operutions: tableting, heat treaitment, stamping and draw-ing in
sDecial molds and cooling. The individual operations are described. The

TEXT_ The authors point out that, with the increase in the production of
plastic articles, the demandfor pressure casting dies will rise, and they sug-
gest to produce these dies from zinc alloys, since these alloys have a low melt-
ing point and sufficiently high mechanical property indices, while their hardness
is not inflerior to copper alloys. To test the use of zinc alloys, die seat in-
serts were produced from pressure-cast zinc alloys. Owing to the high heat con-
ductivity of zinc alloys in comparison with steel, the manufacturing cycle of
the part was reduced from 21 to 19 seconds which made it possible to increase
the machine output, After 105,000 impressions the die was still in a good con-
dition, Since free casting into metal molds with gaging inserts did not yield
positive results, a new process of casting with pressure crystallization Oil hy-
draulic presses has been developed, The specific pressure in this process should

a gas containing 90% hydrogen circulated over a technical alum inu m - cobal t-m olybdonumI
icatalyst. no effect of different factors, such as temperature, pressure and feed rate,
on the degree of desulfurization, iodine number, hydrogen consumption and the duration of
,action of the catalyst was investigated. The hydrogen consumption was deterinLned both by"
:the variation In the composition of raw material and desulfurized product and by direct
measurement. It was found that decreasing the pressure from 50 to 30 atm. and In-
creasing the temperature from 380 to 410C during refining decreases the hydrogen con-
sumption by 27%. Under these conditions, the technic alalum inum- cobalt-molybdenum
catalyst has along life and ensures a product of good quality. Hydrofining at sk pressure
. of 20 atm. and temperatdre'of 410C cannot be recommended, even though this reduces the
'hydrogen consumption by an additional 21%, because the lif6time of the catalyst between
regenerations Is insufficient- A prolonged catalytic action Is made possible 6y lowering:
the temperature to 350C. At Ws temperature, the hydrogen consumptioly em be decreased
by 35-50% while maIntaining the, extent of desulfurization at 70-80%. Orig. aft bass .22

ABSTRACT: Topochemical chromium 111) hydroxide was prepared by precipita-'
tion fron a solution conta'ining 5 g. Cr2(SO4)3.5H20 per 250 ml. water
and 0.5N NAH solution not exceeding 1/3 of the stoichiometric amount of
NaOH. The precipitate is washed and dried. The topochemical hydroxide
thus formed has better catalytic characteristics than the ordinary Va-
riety since it has a larger specific surface. The properties of the

TEXT: Acetylene (I) is absorbed by a solution of vinyl acetate (II) In
CH C00H from the waste gases evolved in the course of the synthesis of H
fr9m I with CH 00011. This solution is an unrefined product of the
process (from ;hich, however, I has been removed) Owing to the good,
solubility of I in II, the solution dontaining -;0% of II and -40% of
CH C00H is a better absorbent of I than is the commonly used CH COOH.

Thus, CH COOH recovers only 26% of I contained in a solution, whereas
