non-aqueous solvents. It is shown that the anomalous
KA value of propionic acid obtained by measuring in
an aqueous solution is connected with a specific in-
teraction with H 20 mole8ules,, the nature of which is
not clear& A new method for revealing hydrogen bonds
based on measuring KA in Various solvents is proposed.
The fact that the strength of the hydrogen bond varies
depending on the solvent polarity, which influences
the KA magnitude, is used in this methods The results
of analysis of the data concerning the K-s of carboxy-
lie acids were used for the conformity determination
of some compounds.

Title New Method of Drying and Finishing Chrome Leather.
Orig PLib Legkaya prom-st, 1956, No 2, 25-27
Abstract A description is given of a newly developed method for the
drying and mechanical treatment of chrome leather, which
is based on the use of self-adjusting expandable drying
frames and a stretching of the leather during drying.
Due to formation of the leathe:7 structure during the pro-
cess of drying and the absence of agglutination of struc-
tural elements, a leather is obtained vhich undergoes no
changes in surface area on repeated soaking and drying.
The use of this method eliminates a number of operations,

sarcoid with an otorhinolaryngological localization I~AS.
L9K.ftS. 1957, 96/2(56-58)
Two cases of sarcoid have been described, which were treated in the ENT clinic in
Olomouc during 1955. The first case was a 60-year-old female with a 5-year his-
tory of a swollen left parotid, enlarging in the years before treatment. The tumour
was extirpated, and a histological diagnosis of sarcoid could be made. The 2nd
case was a 33-year-old male on whom a left-sided tonsillectomy was performed in
1947. After continual recurrence of pharyngitis-the right tonsil was also removed,
and this time a histological diagnosis of sarcoid could be made. 1n conclusion, a
selection of clinical signs, histological findings and a summary of the ideas on the
aetiology of the disease are presented. (Xl, 15 *)

ABSTRACT: A fixed cast mold is applied for the pressing of commutators with
plastic; It consists of three basic parts% upperp middle and lower.
The upper part consists of a punch fastened on a plate by a bolder, the
middle part consists of a die placed on a plate, and the lower part of
a yoke and of a molding inset. Commutator plates are firist molded with
the micanite insulating gaskets into a ripg. The ring with the plates
is placed into the yoke of the casting mold. The molding operation
consists of pressing the compacting powder with the punch through the
gap between the ring and the die into the cavity created by the die,, the
molding inset and the commutator plates. The compacting powder is first
pressed into briouets. The pressing is done by preheating (up to 1600)

lamps and PT-2 optical projection signal panels. Power is supplied from standard
self-contained low-voltage sources used in semiconductor work. The units have
memory systems and transistorized amplifiers. The indicators are designed on the
modular unit system. A schematic is given of the basic decade unit and its operationk
is described in detail. The indicators operate on a -12 and +1.5 volt supply. In
addition, the optical projection unit uses an extra -24 volt supply. The units
operate reliably at ambient temperatures from 0 to 50C and voltage variations of +5

!ABSTRACT: The pulse- distributor is inte 0 pulses,
and distributing them among the inputs of power amplifiers which supply the-
iwindings of a stepping motor. The distributor eircuits are reversible, have single
ichannel pulse imputs (for "forwardtl and ffreverself programs), and have potential
outputs whose number is proportional to the number of phases of the stepping
motor in question. A two-trigger ferrite-transistor circuit is briefly described
and the principal diagrams for 8- and 9-phase stepping motors are given. It is

ABSTRACT: The conver6ion of the currently operating ~1~~ tube mills to twin-a-roove
operation makes it possible to increase their productivity by 50-75%. However, the simultane-

in these conditions. To resolve this question, the authors investigated the stressed state of
