the thermographic method on M. S. Kurnakov's pyrometer. Heat effects which interfere:
with the study are encountered when hafnium fluoride concentration.exceeds 55%. Them
visual-polythermal, thermographic d x-ray phase methods show that two congruent

melting compounds, K3HfF7 ~nd FfE and one incongruently melting compound, K2HfF6
are formed during crystallizatioXom liquidus in this binary system where HfF4 CO;_
centration is -less than 50 mol.%, while the compound K4HfF8 is formed in the solid
