Abstracti [Authors' Geman summary] YeanL was nsed as an enzyme model
in the determination of the effect of chemothorapoutic compounds on
tumors. Comparative studies wore conducted for the selection of y0ast
extract as having the most advantageous effect and for the inhibitors
seleated. Mainly the p11 and concentration values have been changed
since these are dLfforent In yeast suspension and in blood. The aim of
the experiment wz; not to develop P. oomplotely now method but to use
the enzyme-teatir4; method already used clinically for the determination

Abstract: (EhElish article, authors' Fnrlish surmory modified] ;in attcmpt
was made by a research team at the Listitutc of Hygiene of the university
to reproduce the results of BERTOK at al. who reported the cxperimantal
transmission of epidemic hnpatitis virus to rats, The histological finding3
in the liver of 34 rats used in the reproduction experiments are pre3ented
in this papsx. No pathological change ,.,as found in the liver of infrcted and
control rats which reccived a normal synthetic diet. The chanCes in the
liver of Jjifected and n6n-infected animal3 kept on the ethionine diet ticree
identical. There were sianificant differences in the histological findings
in the liver obtained from human or canine victima of infectiou3 hepatitis,
and in th,3 liver of rats treated with ethionine and infected subsequently

Ab3tract CAuthors' English summary]: The intraduodenal injection of hyper-
and hypot~nic solutions lowers the mean arterial blood pressure. The
pressor reflex evoked by clamping the two common carotids, ss well as
the hypertensive response to stimulation of the splanchnic rerve are
also significant3y diminished. Meanwhile, the heart rate Increases, and
in the ECG depressed R wa7es, and In leads Z and 3 elevated P waves oc-
cur. The phenomenon persi,3ts for more than I h:)ur. It is thought to be
caused by inhibtory impul;;es from the osmoreceptors of the duodenal mu-
cosa reaching the vasomot4)r center via the vagus, lowering its tone.
This view is supported by the observation that bilateral cervical vaqo-
tomy abolishes the above pbenomenon. The humoral nature of the effeA

Abstract: Experimental porphyrism. was induced in white rats with allyl iso-
propylacetyl urea (Sedormid; Hoffmann La-Roche) and with griseofulvin (Li-
kuden; Farbwerke Hoechst A. G.). The pathological findings in the experi-
mental animals, especially those evident in the nerve cells, spinal marrow,
and cortex of the brain, were described, discussed, and illustrated. It
was shown that histological findings are suitable for identifying
porphyrism. The neuropathological symptoms encountered were comparable
with those in humans. 27 references, including 4 German and 23 Western.
