To determine charatteristics of thermorelectric elements, scien- ists have suggested various coefficients, such as: tr effective thermal force" VY .1-1 (E. By tile use of Wada's binding-off method, pruritus. hyperaf-mic area, pilo-Crection and sweat formation occurred inhibited -it the other side of the binding off. The reflex of itching can he influenced, like other skin axon reflexes, by different medicaments, especially those with an ac- ative nervous system, hoth at the receptor an~ at the elfector tion on the veget, point. The inhibition of itching is more easily effected at the receptor point. The reflex hyperaemia is mainly inhibited - also most easily at the receptor point - by parasympathic and synapsis inhibiting substances and by local anaesthetics and antihistaminics, while the sympatholytics are more or less " out ac ion. V h t The pilo-erection was inhibited, at the receptor point by practically all the med- icaments tested while at the effector point relatively few were active. This dif- ference seems to be due to the different behaviour of the axon reflexes. There are very different views in the literature with regard to the process of the axon reflex. From citations from the literature, and from the author's own experiments and pharmacological tests carried out on sympathectomized patients, the con(-.Iu- sion is reached that the behaviour, latency and spread of the axon reflex can best be explained by the assumption of the presence of a vegetative end net of which the 'ganglion celL-like' cells simultaneously explain the transferof the impulse. They were able to prevent the positive patch tests of 0.51!~ chromate ~;Olution by mixing it in vitro with 1% solution of vit. c. They also used up the reducing pro- perty of vit. A quantitative evalua- tion of morphine compounds which influence local pruritus is given. Section two deals with the pathomechanism of urea-blister formation. Ihe influence of the oxylen supply and of proteolytic enzymes on the formation of urea- blisters and the investiZation of the mechanism during and after a shut- off of arlterial circulation are discussed. The effect of some medications are also evaluated. All experiments have been done on the hu:man skin. The investigations are continued. 9 Hungarian, Z Western references. 1/1 WKA, Odon, dr. Abstract: [Authors' Hungarian summary] Catarmestic studies were conducted OiT 136 workers treated for occupational skin diseases 5-10 years after their hospitalization. Of these, 72 had dermatitis caused by chemical 5en- sitization, 18 had irritative dermatitis, 24 had mycogenic processes and 22 had coccogenic eczemas. The catamnestic data are reported. The distribu- tion, in order of decreasing frequency, according to occupation was as follows: a) stone mason, house painter, b) painter, polishing industry, c) iron and metal industry, d) hairdresser, e) health worker. With respect to the allergens, the most frequent sensitization was by chromium, tur- nPntine and formaldehyde. Of the 72 patients, 46 changed occupations; of ihase, 29 recovered and 17 did not.
