Prokopovich (Odessa), Lnzhenerny- Sbornik, Vol 24, 1957, i5_15f~_lff Two examples of the effect of creep on stresses of anisotropic bodies are analyzed. The studied bodies are thin shells possessing elactic-creep orthotropy, i.e., shells having different elastic and creep properties along tmo mutually perpendicular axes, coincidinS with the main radii of curvat-ure. It was found that creep ha5 a substantial effect on the stress in Ecnel'al -and on the stress produced by acting external forces. The creep effect may be ex- plained by the redistribution of strain and. stress in aniGotrapic system.-;. Formulas are presented for computing the effect of creep in orthotropic shells .-,of cylindrical or spherical types. These formulas may be generalized for the cuse of stress and strain produced by deformation. (U) PROKOPOVIGH, I.Ye., kandidat tekhnicheokikh anuk. Designing steel pressure pipelines. IThe plane electrode consisted of nine separate rings of equal area, the current to each of which was measured. The ratio of the current to the volta-e was found to be la linear function of the voltage, and the current was inversely proportional to the ipressure. The current distribution on the plane electrode and the total current as a funztion of gap length are compared with the predictions of the formula off VI.Deutsch 1(Pnys.zS., 34, 448) 1933). This formula does not very well reproduce either the radial or the gap length dependence of the current, and it predicts a total current !that is an order of magAitude higher than is observed. An analogous forrnula is de- ;rived on the assumption that the electric lines of force in the gap region are straight lines. This formula does not reproduce the radial dependence of "he current Card 31/2 TMC! 537-52-2-2-- ACC ACC 'R. ~C700.1302 any better than does Deutsch's formula and it does not reproduce the gap loh-th !.dependence as well, but with an ion mobility of 1.5 cn2/V see it gives to-,al c*.;.-:,az:;s of the observed order of magnitude. It is concluded that the electric linc:s of force i win the gap region are noithor elliptic arcs (as was assumed by Deutsch) nor straight flines (as was assumed in the present derivation), but that they have some other shape. lit is also concluded that the distribution of the electric field in the gap re.gion '~determlnes the distribution of current to the plane electrode. The torsion balance was mounted within c metal container of volume 0.5 M3 and the apparatus was calibrated to within 3%. Perfection of the acuteness of inner sensation during the development of hypoxemia and hypercapnia was established. The conclusions are: interocep- Live analysis and motor analysis can be improved in training; training can bring about a high degree of per- fection of the interoceptive (chemoreceptivevasal) analyzer; it is possible to improve interoceptive analysis experimentally, in a closed space and at rest %ithout motor training; the perfection of interoceptive analyzers might be an important factor in the conscious rational distribution(self-regulation) of vital loads in men. and prevent their over-strain. The incidence of severe. generali ad cases of tb in cattle increased two-fold, in swine three-fold. Swine las decreased to one third of the previous level, swine fever and erys'-pe aalmonellosis showed a new increase after a transient decrease. Fasciolo- ais of cattle and echinococcosis of swine caused steadily high losses, with heavy infestation in about one-third of each stock. Severe cases of fasciolosis of sheep was put to 30 per cent among the slaughtered animals. Cysticorcosis of cattle inoreasod slightly while In pigs it was observed very rarely, with only six cases reported in 1961. 6 FAStOM Western references. D-Pean 19 PRO PWV_T~. G. Moscow, Atomizdat, 19610, 932-936 TOPIC TAGS: high energy accelerator, synchrotron, particle beam, magnetic field ABSTRACT: After the development of a high-precision system of frequency control of the accelerating field of the proton 50-60 Gev synchrotron with critical energy compensation (Mints, A. L., et al., Proc. International Conference on High Energy Accelerators and Instruments, CERM 1959)0 It was decided to achieve an alternative 0 accelerator with transition through the critical energy$ which makes It possible t increase the energy to 70 Gev. to this modification of the accelerator serious dl f1cultied are encountered with the p"lization of a Systen for generating an Inc lerating field with freqvenc~ control only according to the ff-progrem.
