Abstract Gives the exact solutions for the case of inertailess laminar cur-
rents of a viscous gas in plane channels. Integrates in a genera-,

and for arbitrary temperature dependence of the physical parameters
of the gas (coefficients of viscosity, coefficient of heat conduction,

TEXTs The author considers boundary layer equations vrith a mass and
heat exchange in the criticat point of the body with Un arbitrary form of
the nose. The solution of such prob'-ems can be reduced to the solution
of non-linear differential equations. wnere the boundUry conditions on
the body and in infinity are prescribed. The numerical integration of
these equationa is very difficult. The author uses tho invariance of the
boundary layer equations with respect to a shift along the transversal
coordinate and finds an analytic asymptoti,: solution of the considered
equations in a gre,.t distance from the approached body, where this
solution is a function of only one 7ar.'able. Then the author formulates

The integration of boundary layer
agrees with the known asymptotic solution. I.e. all conditions are pres-
cribed on a boundary of the regi,-,n. The author finds asymptcti-
solutions for several forms of the nose ; a numericai solution of !he
formulated Cauchy problem, however. which would have permitted a de.-
termination of the solution on the body itself is not given. The follow-
ing difficulties will arise for a practi-'a.' performance of the propose~d
method. The effort to obtain utmog* exac* initial conditions for the
Cauchy problem will lead to the necessity to formulate these conditions
in a sufficiently large distance from the body. For the s~,iution of 'he
Cauchy problem that will lead to a great number of steps. In the final
result it may appear that the boundary c)ndition on the tody is sat'sfied
with a great error. Although the author'a method is -~,rre.-t from the
mathematical point of view its practi,al pranticability must still be
proved.

TEXT: In the described method of the accurate integration of khe boundary-
layer equations continuous flows of incompressible gases are, investigated.
In the introduction it is stated that the nethod may without. difficulties be
applied also to lasinary flows of compressible games. It is shown in a short
consideration that it is sufficient in the present case to solve the problem
of a nonviscous flow round the body, where the surface of the loody is shifted
by one displacement thickness. Formula (2) characterizes the swelling of the
boundary layer, which is caused both by the friction of particles and by the
infiltration of gas. The main difficulty of integrating bounda:ry-layer equa-
tiona is caused by the fact that the solution must be considered in the
infinite space. By the introduction of asymptotic postulates the author succeeds

in oonverting the 'boundary-layer equations into linear beat-oonductivity equa-
tions. In this way, the difficulties in integration are avoided. Thus, equation
(4) is obtained, and by the introduction of parabolic coordinates a singularity
is eliminated. It is described how to obtain all the solutions of equation (4)v
and the conditions as to when these solutions are solutions of boundary-layer
equations are discussed. By using the asymptotic solution as an initial con-
dition, the solution of the boundary-layer equation in the entire region is
constructed. For numerical computation, equations (6) and (7) are given, and the
accuracy of calculation is discussed. There is 1 Soviet reference,
