TITLE: Aeroelastic divergence of rotating lifting surfaces with the
cffect of centrifugal forces taken into account
SOURCE: Studii si cercetari de mecanica aplicats, v. 14. no. 5.

TOPIC TAGS: aeroelastic divergence, lifting surface, divergence
velocity, rotating lifting surface, centrifugal force effect, constant
cross section wing
ABSTRACT: The paper presenta an analytical calculation of the critical
divergence velocity for wings of constant cross section which takes
account of the tensile forces. For practical purposes, the 'critical
divergence velocity is calculated through energy and semi-rigid methods
which produce goo4 a1pproximate values by prope; choice of the function
representing the torsion. It is stated that the single, expression for
critical divergenqe, lvclocity obtnined here can be easily used for
practical purposes. Orig. art. has: 34 formulas.

TOPIC TAGSs pipe distortions transverse 996tiono torsion, bending moment,
shearing moment, coordinate system
The paper determines deforraation equations for thin-wall,, closed-
profile p4s. As computation hypothesesl the non-deformability of the transverse
section is a,'-veptedo as well as Umanshys hypothesis relative to the form of
deplaning of ibe transverse section oving to twisting. The introduction of the
bending and shttring moments and the main directions of bending and shearing siz-
plifies the exp-ession of these equations. In conclusion, the author gives the
differential eqistions that join the three displacements and the three turns Of
the transverse section relative to the three axes ofithe selected coordinate
system, Orige art* bast 54 equations and I diagram.

Orig Pub: Apicultura, 19~7, No 1, 19-20.
Abstract: in the horizontal hive of 20 frames, apart
from thu principal family behLnd the diaphragm,
a nucleus is left for the winter. In spring,
the two faMiliE!S are equalized as to strength
and feed supply. Five days before the blossom-
ing of acacias, the assistant queen is removed
and the two families are united. By this meth-
od, 8-9 kg. more honey per family was obtained
as compared with the honey crop in the adjoin-
