Ten ml of nitric acid (65%) and 2 ml Of HC104 a--e added
and heated on the wire gAuze for 20 minutes, whereby the
color of the mixture changes from black to an orange-
brown color. At that point, the heating is interrupted
and 1.0 ml of nitric acid and 2 ml Of HC104 are added,
followed by continuing heat:bigs The operation is repea-
ted until the colution becomes either colorle3s or ligbt
yellow. The condenocT is washed with a arnall im)otuit of
nitric acid and is removed; the lid is washed in the
same way. The vessel with its contente is covered with
a watch glass (borosilicate glass) and is heated on the
