ACCESSION NR: AP4029253 and a high resistance to embrittlement; its resistance to crystallization -f is sure formation manifested itself in welding in COZ or by coated electrodes. It was found that satisfactory 14G2T-steel welds can be obtained with an arc energy of 1. 700-5, 000 cal/ cm, with 12 -mm-thick plate which corresponds to the rate -of - cooling of the weld-affected zone of 60.0-5.5C/sec. Sv-08GS and Sv-08G2t electrode wires are recommended for CO, welding, and UONI-13/55A, for manual arc welding. The above results probably hold true for other low-alloy steels. such as 15GS. 14KhGS, 14KhGSN, 15KhSND. Orig. art. has: 4 figures and 3 tables. The object of the anthorts experiments was to use the facilities afforded by supersonic material testing to work out, first on a laboratory scale and later on actual machineryp a procedure for studying and tracing by supervotmd the fatipe Card 113 AbCWSION NRs AP40W& phermma resulting from repeated loading. The paper presents a method developed on steel samplas in the Material-Testing Section of the Ceepal Iron and Metal Workv. As a result, mdtable sample forms and eqtdpwat ware evolved. A=37als of the mechanism of the phenomena mid the rate-tim diagram appears to confiiis the findings of Be Cina and other re3earebers that material fatigue belongs to the class of creep phenomena, The size of the fault or the extent of the danger of breakage can be concluded from the growth In +-h9 fault echo produced by fatigue cracklmg. The procedure can be extended to other kinds of repeated loading, e*ge bending, rotary folding. It w111 apparently be po3sible to app3,v the method to fini3bed machinery- as vall. Abstract: [Authors' Hungarian sizrmary] The formamide method was used by the authors for the extraction of lun-7 tissue. Because of its digestive e_-"fect on organic materials, it is well suited for the reclamation of dust which has settled in the lungs. The method does not alter these dust particles and they are, therefore, suited for qualitative and quantitative analyses. The results of the investigations show that most of the dust which settles in the lw.(-s consists of granules which are under 1 micron. 0 3 Eastern European, 21 Western references. 31 PAL, Tibor, okleveles mernok fomernok 3teal through girder bridges wlLa cont~lrjuous ferrormc-rp-, -~r, plates. 1491yepitestud szemle 14 no.11:49/,,501 14 164. 1, Highuay- Malin Dlrec*.mrate, ktinl 4try of ~n,l : .,,, Affalre, BudaperL. I Evaluating experiences with 2.192 cases hospitalized for 6 days (formerly 42 dnys) it is concluded that the shortening of the hospitalization is more essential than the penicillin treatment. The number of comolications dropped from 3076 to 1.4%0. How- ever in about 296 a second attack was observed. and in one case there were 3 at- tacks during one year. The use of sulphonamides is unsuitable; it does not prevent complications, which are more frequent in treated patients than in untreated sub- jects. A complex conception of scarlet fever is given. It in doubtful whether streptococcus -carriers would be a danger. The treatment of healthy carriers is unnecessary. Peaek - Brno (XX, 6, 7) PALMY, A.
