Abstract A nethod is dencribed fdr the destructive hydrogenation
of organic substa:~ces for the purpose of determinine the
isotope composition of the oxygen in these substances;
the hydrogenation is carried out at 300P in all H2 atmos-bi
phere =1 over a Ni catalyst. At 300-4W there is no
exchan between the vallo of the tube, mde of Mo-glaso,
and lf2(7"- The catalyst contains oxygen which can be ex-
changed with the water vapor. In order to establish the
equilibrium for thia exchange foxlx passes of vapor over
the catalyst at 300P are sufficient. The error in the
determination is 3-4 percent.

ABSTRACT: The spectral albado, of natural grounds was measured by.special instrumento
The program of massuremente was so pleased that changes of spectral albedoe might be
detected at various typical grounds. Measurements were carried out above fields of
lucerne In the Odessa region, above crop fields to the Poltava region, above clover
and lupine fields and water surface in Lithuania, and above snow, asphalt, and con-
crete to the Leningrad region. All observation data were divided into three classes
according to their spectrophotometric properties, The albodo of the first class in-
