ABSTRACT: A method is presented for isolating long-period perturbations in the
motion of a satellite of an axially- symmetric planet by solving the problem in
i cylindrical coor4inates. The method is used to compute long-period perturbations
qualified by second, third, fourth, and fifth harmonics in expanding the force
function of planet attraction. This method excludes nonperiodic terms from

expressions for the cylindrical coordinates of a satellite, obtained by the author
earlier (RZhAstr, 1962, 8AI10; 1965, 7. 51. 119). The presence of non-periodic
terms in satellite coordinates, which correspond to a rapid increase in the
amplitude of their fluctuations, does not agree with observations, so that these
terms must be cluded by means of an appropriate selection of integration con-
stants. The final form of the representation of perturbed coordinates resembles
the form for the golUtion of the problem on the motion of the Moon in the Hill-
Brown theory. the obtained expansions of coordinates are compared with the
results obtained $y D. Brouwer. who obtained osculatory elements with the same
degree of accuraiy (RZhAstr, 1960, No. 11, 11031). Long-period terms in
osculatory elemepts, obtained from the proposed solution in a coordinate form,
coincide with cor;responding terms derived by Brouwer. Secular terms may be
identified with th4 proper selection of random constants. A bibliography of 6 titles
is included. Ye. Polyakhova. [Translation of abstract) ISP]

TITLE: The Problem of Lixiviation of Germanium by Water From
Coals 1-1
PERIODICAL: Ukrainskiy khimioheskiy Murnal, 1960, Vol. 26, No. 3,
pp. 383 - 388
TEXT: The authors extracted germanium with distillod water without
using ultrasonic waves) from fat boiler coal of the type IT)K~PU),
lorge-sixod Can coal of the type fK (GK), and low-ash, enriched coal
in a ground state. The germanium content of the coals was 0-0030, 0.0023,-
and 0.0010%, respectively. Table I shows the gr&nUlOM*tTiC composition
of the ground coalt. Table 2 and Fig. I show the results of the first
toot series conducted to study the dop*nd*noe of extraction on the dura-
tion of lixiviation. Hance, it appears that germanium can be extracted
from greund coals, even under standard conditions (without ultrasonic
field or irradiation), but to a relatively small extent. The degree of
extraction depends on the duration of the process. In further

ABSTRACT.
Of three virus strains isolated from patients in two influenza outbreaks,
one resembled standard strain PR8 and the other two vere identified as new
