leukaemia). In a discussion of the pathogenic character of these akin n1kanifeat-
aticina the opinion is advajiced that they are of metaplastic nature.

Abstract Attempts to utilize pegmatite from the Orshov region
for the extraction cf electrotechnical phosphorus did
not lead to positive results, because of the fact that
the total content of oxides in it consisted of - 9%,
with a ratio of K20/11a C1, equal to 1:1, in which the
dielectric losses of' tRe phospho-,ms obtained exceeded
500 - 10-4. With ircrease of the temperature to 80o,
they consisted of 35()ojo-4. Pegmatite from the Karan-
sebesh region was mre acceptable for the above-

Abstract Starting with tho fact that the ions H+ and OH-, adsorbed by
the silver bromide crystals or dIffused. in these crystals
from the surrounding modlum, influence the concentration
and the distribixtion of the lattice defects in these crystals,
an investigation was initiated of the influence of pH of
nuclear emulsions on thcir sensitivity (S). The emulsion
KIM-K was imprcignated. withsolutions of citric, oxalic,
boric acids (for thesa th240e acids of pH was regulated bj
addition of KOH) and rdtric acid, and also with Mi2B40 7and
Na2CO , covering a migm of pH from 0.65 to 12.0. Me
platJ were then exponod to < rays from ThC I. CM group (A)

T~AT: The author studied reversible and irreversible variation in
sensitivity under the action of' ions adsorbed on crystals of AgBr, using
(NIKFI) type (K) ionographic plates 100 1A thick. Different ions
were introduced into the layer in a bath while the pH was variea from
1 to 10, while the uranyl-ion concentration was varied with pH-value
constant at neutral, and while the pH-value of the solutions was varied
.from 1 to 9 with the uranyl-ion concentration constant. The sensitivity
of the layer changes with certain ion concentrations in the solution and
with the specific developing time. Two stages - a reversible and an
irreversible - can be observed. The first is due to the change in the
