A report on the sox life of 36 men with fernale nuclear patterns. Two main upset
periods in the somatosexual development are distinguished. The first peri(xJ take$
place in oil probability at the early age of embryonal development and results in
the nuclear pattern of the femalo type. Elut the sexual tendencies of these individ-
uals do not seem to be irdloonced thereby, because they were clearly heivro-
sexual in 33 of the 36 cases under review; the remaining 4 patients wore classified
as 'infantile'. Durinil the second upset period. in adolescence. degenerative pro-
comma in the testicles often cause a disturbance of the hormonal activity of the
Loydig calls. All mon with fomal* sea chromatin measuringe revealed an ob-
vious hypoplasis of sawlal #land*. On the other hand. in the adult group of ex-
clusive or almost exclusive homosexua1s, Wales of a subnormal size were
foundZi in 9 of the toUd 194 come. In 6 of Owe* 9 patients son cnromatin was
exam and always found to be mmeculine. The authors do not exclude the pos-
aibility of fixOng female sea chromatin in homosexual men. but believe that that
would be a pare eamidenee Md am a cauw interrelationship.

the cations of mercury, lead, cadmium and zinc
PERIODICAL: Ukrainskiy khimichoskiy zhurnal, v.28, no.7, 1962,

TEXT: The method of investigation was to decompose a dithizorte
complex of a metal with an aqueous dithiol. The extent of the
decomposition was taken as a measure of the strength of the
dithiol-motal complex. Thiols forming a stable complex with one
of the metals form also stable complexes with the other metals.
The most stable complexes (95% of dithizone complex decomposed)
were formed by CH9CH0ivNHC1is0i*S06Na

Investigation of the complex- E075/E436
In general, the most stable complexes are formed by soditim
dimercal)toalkyloulphonates containing sulpho-sulphur or
amine-nitrogen. The least stable compounds are formed by
dimercaptodorivatives of malonic acid, aromatic thiols aad
heterocyclic thiols containing two non-aligned ZH groups and
monothiols. Transfer of SH in thiuls of the fatty series froz-.i
2,3 to 1,3 position does not increase the strengt" of the corplex-

Sit sit fornecomplexes wi th
Zn and Hg having similar stability to those formed by non-Soviet
product BAL (2,3 dimereaptopropai.ol). The latter decomposes 75,,
of the dithizone complex. '-.any of the thiols form much stronger
complexes with lig than ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid. With
Pb, Zn and Cd the acid gives complexes having similar stabili,y to
those formed by the beat thiols. The dithizone method of
determining complex stability is recommended for general usage.

ABSTRACT: The author shows that quantization of the energy of conduction electron in
a film can lead to the appearance of logaritbalc singularities in the density of the
states. This is brought about by the changes occurring in the topolog* -f the Feral
surface as the latter is continuously deformed at high pressures mad in Sibat oscil- I
