pative attenuator. The dosimeters operate with continuous oscilla-
tion only (pulsed operation of the generator may spoil the dosimeter)
and come in three types. The loop efficiency is approximately 7%.
Three types of dosimeters are described: (1) stationary with mechani-
cal displacement of loop (to eliminate the effect of standing waves
in the room), which reads the energy flux density (from 20 to
200,000 microwatt per square centimeter) and which integrates the in-
cident energy (from 0.001 to 10 j/cm2); (2) pocket type, which inte-
grates the incident energy from 0.01 to 100 J/cm2 at a flux density
from 0.1 to 10 mW/cm2; (3) portable sound alarm, which produces a
signal at a set power flux level from 0.1 to 1 mW/cM 2. The station-
ary dosimeter uses vacuum tubes, while the pocket and sound-signal
dosimeters are transistorized and fed from dry cells. "The authors

Conclusions: Ni-Fe layers deposited by plating with a low both
voltage improves the fatigue strength of the base material; the
fatigue strength depends hardly at all on the thickness of the
deposited layer; this is attributed to the lower internal
stresses in layers deposited by plating. There are 11 figures and

TITLE: Passage of High-frequency Pulses Through Linear Systems With
Delayed Feedback
PERIODICAL: Radiotekhnika, 1960, Vol. 15, No. 5, pp. 26-28
TEXT: As linear systems with delayed feedback are now frequently used
in radio engineering, the author of the present paper studies the problems
connected with the passage of high-frequenoy pulses through such systems,
especially the changc of the pulse running through the closed feedback
circuit. The problem of the paper of Ref. 1 was solvpd in a similar way.
Here, this problem is applied to selective systems with real frequency
transitions and to a rectangular pulse. The problem dealt with in this
article is described as follows: A rectangular radio pulse is sent to
the output of the linear resonance amplifier which ha a a delay lin%~in the
feedback circuit. The "filling frequency" (chastota zapoineniya) of'this
pulse does not coincide with the resonance frequency of the amplifier.
The feedback is chosen in such a way that the system cannot oscillate. /C

Linear Systems With Delayed Feedback BOOMB014
The delay time of the line is assumed to be much longer than tr,e luration
of the initial pulse. The law for the above-mentioned change 18 formulateJ
The diagrams obtained show that the "filling frequency" changes during
the duration of the pulse, i.e., it tends toward the frequency of the
acting voltage ~_ 0 , The time In which the "filling frequency" becomes
equal to ci 0 depends on the ratio y between the initial detuning 0 an-1
the passband 24VAj0 of the system. The smaller the detuning anJ the lar,7er
the passband the quicker is the transient. There are 3 figures and

TITLE: The initial (linear) stage of oscillation transients
in a delayed feedback oscillator
PERIODICAL: Radiotekhnika, v. 18, no. 1, 1963, 30-34
TEXT: The author analyzes a delayed feedback oscillator,
starting to oscillate under the effect of shock excitation (unit
step) at its input. The oscillator consists of an amplitude limiter,
selective network and delayed feedback, the feedback path being assu-
med ideal. It is also assumed that there is only one frequency in
the system passband which satisfies the condition of the phase and
amplitude balance in the steady 'state. It is shown that in such an
oscillation both the voltage amplitude envelope and the frequency
deviation oscillate. The parameters of these oscillations depend on
the passband, delay time and the overall gain of the system. There
are 5 figures.

"Incidence of Ulcers among Men as a Function of Age."
Sofia, Voenno Meditsinsko Delo, Vol 21, No 2, 1966, pp 26-29
Abstract [author's Russian summary, modiAed): Military medical examinations
of several hundred thousand Bulgarian males from 24 to 50 years of age showed
that 1.42 percent suffered from ulcers. The r&te in the 41-50 age
group was IM percent. The highest rate, 2.02 percent, was at age 39. It
is concluded that the incidence of ulcer increases with age, although
there am significant fluctuations in neighboring age groups. Seven
