ABSTRACT: Data are given on mists at the Tatra Airport in an attempt to find at least
,a few relationships between ground conditions and the origin and duration of the mists.
1he diurnal and annual variation in the mists at the airport is analyzed on the basis
of data accumulated from 1951 to 1960. The annual curve for the number of days w-ith
:mist shows a reduction from January to August except for an incr,~ase in March which is
approximately the same for anticyclone and cyclone conditions. There is a rapid in-
crease in the number of days with mists after August, reaching a maximum in December
with only seven clear days on the averaFe. As a wrole, ti.ere are more misty days
following cyclonic conditions than there are fr,, owing anticyclonic conditions which
indicates a prevalence in this region i' advective mists over radiative due to the
surface terrain. Cplculations show ttat the maximum probability for days with mists
,occurs under southwest &nticyclone conditions in December. Observational data show

results-bbtolned in Investigating iron mid Iron-gadolinium film are described. It
was found that the coeivive force of Iron-godolinium films changes somewhat after
prolonged (15-day) exposure to air. On the other hand, no significant changes in
characteristics of the film were observed when these film were kept for hours

ABSTRACT- The authors present experimental data on the coercive force and domain
structure~f iron films of different thickness and describe some properties of an
annular domin structure. The film (13 x 13 mm) were evaporated in vacuum (-10-5 mm
Hg) on Identically finished glass substrates in a magnetic field of BO Oe. To elim-
inate fringing effects, the hysteresis loops were obtained only for the central sec-
tions of the films (6 x 6 mm). The first measurements were made in vacuum, after
which air was admitted in the chamber and the measurements were repeated at different
time irtervals (5 min - 30 days). The results show that the coercive force measured
after a prolonged time In air is appr2ciably higher than In vacuum. The coercive
