ity in 760 is prosented. A study connecting general morbidity,
and tno -.orbidity connectcd with inability to work in the

and may help the factory medical staff. In conformity with pub-
lished data unfavorable working conditions in foundries were
confirmed. Mainly diseases of upper respiratory passages end
nuxi-ber of injuries tend to be very high in numbers.

Abstracti It is shown that as filter can be uaed cotton and glass wool, the
former having better filtering characteristics but being less
sterile since it contains more extraneous particles. The 2atter
retains less well the entrapped particles and is therefore more

Abstract lescription of a procedure for dethezinining cadmium and lead
in zinc-sulfide concentrates and agglomerates vith a content
of 1 X 10'3 to 1%. 'The samples were fired in graphite elec-
trodes with thin walls in a de arc. To reduce the effect of
fractional evaporation, the samples were-mixed before the ana-
lysis with a powder of_(14H4) SO The line pairs Cd 3261 --
ZU 3982A arA Fb 2833 - BI _;S6'(k'were used. The biarmu"th was
introduced into the samples in the form of B' P3 in an amount
of 1%. To construct calibration cuvves use Z made of the
ordinary methods of photographic photometry. The error in
the determanation Is 7%. Notive is taken of the insignifi-
cant influence of the chemical composition of the samples on
the analysis results.

plosive charges to the working chamber of an installation for hydraulic expLosive
forming. The unit is equipped with a cable for the explosive charge. The levice is
designed so that the explosive charge may be placed in the working chamber after com-
plete preparation of the installation for the forming process with provisio!l for se-
quential introduction of several charges. A sloping tube is built into the wall of
the chamber for passage of the charge fastened to the cable. The upper end of this
tube is equipped with a shut-off device, and the lower end terminates insidl! the
chamber. * 2. A modification of this attachment in which damage of the tube Lntroduced
into.the explosive chamber is prevented by making the lower end of the tube in the

TEXTs The influence of high environmental tempera-
tures upon the respiration rate (tachypnoe) has in the past mainly
been studied on animals fixed to a stand. Fixation may, however,
in itself cause a fall in the rate of respiration. The authors tried
to establish the mutual relation of these two factors. 17 freely
sitting rabbits were exposed to temperatures of 43 - 450C and their
rates of respiration were recorded. The recording was repeated with
the.animals lying on their back and fixed to a stand. Statistical
evaluation of the results showed that the toohypnoe caused by k4gh

temperatures was more or less independent of the animals' positions
Fixation to a stand slowed down the respiration rate both in arimals
kept at normal and at high temperatures, although individual differ-

developed. This consists of foaming, and at the same time gelatinizing,
a granulated and previously gelatinized mixture containing PVC,*a
