Nadirashyilt, Institute of Pediatrics of the Academy of Medical Sciences US~iR, Volyrom tsinskoy Khimii, No 3, May-June 1957, pp 233-237. The author studied the kinetics of adsorption layer formation in surface-active colloidal solutions by means of ajL apparatus devised by him. The apparatus consists of four parts-. a measuring vessel, a pumping device, a pressure gauge, and an optic- al mechanism. With the aid of the apparatus it was possible to obtain curves which character- ize the variations of surface tension in the blood serum. A diagram of the apparatus was presented. The construction of the apparatus is based on the principle of a bubble formed at the end of a glass capillary by means of the pumping device. The bubble is kept in the position of highest curvature, which is verified by the optical mechanism. The effect can be read on the pressure gauge at arbitrary intervals, and charted accordingly. The apparatus ie simple and convenient, since it does not lead to foam formation, which greatly interferes with biological investigations. -38- 1/1 SAEVARELIDZE, M.A.; NADIRASHVILI, Sh.A.; 14CHM)LISHVILI. The authors measured the electricai conductivity and permittivity of coal from Karaganda, The electrical conductivity was about 10-8 ohm-1cm-1 and varied witLin one order of ma--nitude, Permittivity was measured at the power frequency with an NIE-1 instrument and at high fre- quencies by means of a KB-1 Q,-meter.
