TITLE: Autolysis of the blood in radiation injury

TLXT: The rate of autolysi8 of the blood of rats before and
after exposure to X-irradiation in a dose of 600-1()00 r was
investigated. Citrated blood diluted 1:20 with saline was
incubated at 37 OC for 6 hours, and the extent of autolysis was
determined from the content of amino-nitrogen after precipitation
of.-protein with trichloroacetic acid. Blood taken 3 hours after
irradiation showed 2 - 3 times as much autolysis as the pre-
treatment sample, and the increase in extent of autolysis
continued until 7 - 8 days after irradiation. During this time
there was a marked fall in the content of amino-nitrogen in the
blood in vivo. The results indicate that increased autolysis
of the blood is one of the earliest manifestations of radiation
sickness.

west. Structural factors controlli-ng the ore localization in.-
clude regional N.W.-trending plicative and disjunctive dislcca-
tions which served as channels for the mineralizing sclutions,
and local X.B.- and N.W.-trending conjugate fissures and dikes,
The influence of the host-rock lithology is illustrated by the
concentration of sulfides in monzonitea and Palaeozoic lime-
stones and by their absence in granite-porphyries, granodicrite-
porphyries, and Rocene shales. Different types of mineraliza-
tion are also associated with different intrusive phasest magne-
tit*patite ores with syeno-diarites; titano-ma6netite ores
with gabbropyroxenites; and. 02-1do and polymetal ores with gra-
nodiorites - the most acid differentiates of ti-,e -nonzonite in-
t'rusion. It is stated that nost of the ore was i)recipilated in
granitoid massifs tnat had already lrystallized ~c a ccnsije-
