TEXT: The difficulties connected with the perturbation-theoretical treat-
ment of a system with a large number of degrees of freedom may today be
looked upon as overcome. One of the possibilities of treating such prob-
lems is the Hugenholtz method (Ref. 1) which was extended by Van Hove
(Refs. 2,3), but the expansionsin series used by these authors are not
well suited for practical application because of the complexity of the
energy denominators. Such an example is discussed in the introduction:
The energy of a perturbed system is expressed by the eigenvalues of the

with abdominal twaor Is described. The location of the tumor could not
be pinpointed during examination and exploratory laparotomy was per-
formed. The tumor, with a histological appearance of carcinoma, originated
from a diverticulum of the urinar7 bladder. At autopsy, subendocardial
tumor metastasis was discovered in the left ventricle of the heart. 3
