of formaldehyde tanna~e and of combination tan-
nage using formaldehyde (I). The I-chrome-veTs-
table tanning process for sole leather is dis-
cussed~ the process makes it possible to cut pro-
cess time and also permits the utilization of
lower grade Rumanian tannins in the vegetable tan-
n~.ng ste~>. The swel]ing of tho skins during lim-
