Abstract The author describes the study and development of
rational methods for underground repair work In oil
wells as performed by the Central Scientific Research
Institute for Mechanization and Organization of Labor
in the Petroleum Industry (TsIMTNeft) and its branches.
The experience and initiative of advanced brigades,
shifts and individual innovators is considered in the
promotion of the new methods for repair of oil wells.
Essential material, tools and machines are assembled In
regional oil fields for special crews trained in photo-
chronometric methods of operation in accordance with a
pre-'planned schedule. The perfected method of repair
work with Molchanov's automatic mechanism is specially

tion of confectionery products and has given srood
results.

TEXT: The present state-of the geologic interpretation of nagnotic
survey data is described. It is pointed out that there are now turo
tVends in interpretation. One utilizes the available experimenial
data.about the character of the change in the magnetic field related
to geologic factors. It also links the character of anomalies with
physical ideas about the magnetic field of geologic formations. The
other utilizes the'magnetizat-ion intensity and the methods of c.alcli-
lating the positions. The latter method provides a good base for
practical application; however, it gives rise to great difficultjea
