Abstract Classification is cited of 400 species of weeds wide-
spread-on the croatian meadows and pastures in the con-
tinental and Meditarranean regions. Weeds are divided
according to Koenig into 12 gronps: I - worthless
plants, harmful for cattle; 2 - valuable b,,Lt irksome
when very widespread; 3 - very widespread, partially
well consumed by cattle btit hindering the mechanized
tillage of the soil; 4 - mcderately widespread weeds,
harmless for cattle; 5 - plants producing little green
b,,,,lk, in most cases eaten by cattle rel,,ictantly; 6 -
thermophilic and xerophilo,,s weeds; 7 - low growing
