The nuclear absorption cross sections are presented graphica.13y, are compared with the'
data and calculations of numerous experimenters and theoreticians, qd are discussed 1.~
at length. The 7-ray absorption Cross sections of p19, N4,24, and Ca 0, integrated .t-
over the investigat6d energy range, were 335, 365, and 9313 mb MeV, respectively. The,'
integrated cross sections of F19 and Ca40 agree, within the experimental error,with *.
the values given Ly the dipole sum rule, but the measured integrated cross section of*
1.1,-24 is only 72% Of the sum rule value, although there are theoretical calculations
indicating that substantially all the dipole transitions in Mg24 i;hould lie below
30 meV. Further theoretical work is required. The authors thank H.S.Kozhevnikov for
assistance with the measurements, P.A.Cherenkov for the opportunkty to use the 260 MeV

TITLE: Bicompactness in Structures
PERIODICAL: Izvestiya vyashikh uchebnykh zavedeniy. Matematika, 1959, Nr 3,
pp 121-129 (USSR)
ABSTRACTa The authors consider T-structures, i.e, structures with a
topology on the elements. Conditions for the topologisability
of structures with orthogonal and complete aomplements are given.
The notion of the TI-space is generalized to T-structures; it is
shown that the bicompactness in the 711-atruoture implies that the
structure is atomic. The equivalence of the four conditions of
bicompactness is proved. The definition of -the bicompactness of
the elements presupposes the introduction of the closure
operation. A theorem on the imbedding of a local-bicompact
Hausdorff structure into a bicompact Hausdorff structure is
proved. The authors thank the Doceat L.A.Slcornyakov for advice.

Abstract: The difference between subjectivo and objective work
fatigue is discussed. Local fatigue, due to the straining of some

TEXT: The shaft of rotary fuel atomkaers is usually extended to
carry several heat shields against radiation-from the combustion
chamber, thus preventing carbon-formation.in the fuel supply'line,
as well as on the inside walls of the atomizer itself'. It is duel
to this shielding that atomizers are bulky. The pateni concerns
the design of rotary fuel atomizers for Weating installations,
whereby the heat insulating front wall protects the fuel inlet from
the effects of radia.,tion; the-insulating wall itaelf is cooled by
air coming in through the openings in the rear wall of the
atomizer. Furthermore, this flow of cooling air assists in the
atomiza.tion of fuel. The rotary atomizer with All a:Kial fuel
