Abstract: The author cites Czechoslovak law No 65/1961
that a application of labor safety devices a part of
industrial planning, He mentions other laws dealing with
this problem and states that trade unions should pay more
attention to theV, The most.sarious problem at present is
silicosist The workmen should be given proper training to
be able to avoid the disease,

TEXTr The expedition was organized by the Czechoslovakian Astronomical-
Society and the Prague Pedagogical Institute to the counWb mountainous regions.
:'76 students, amateur-astronomers, took part in it. The following teams operateds
meteor observers (48 people), observers of Sun, eclipsing binaries, time service.
Meteor observations were aimed at studying the distribution of radiants of
telescopic meteors, determining their atmospheric trajectories and altitudes,@
and studying luminosity functions of bright and weak meteors by observing selqcted@'
1sky regions by various msans,(by eye, with field glasses, binoculars). Several
thousand- observations of telescopic meteors were made and 185 altitudes were
determined. The team of variable-star observers obtained 22 luminosity curves
