A New Type of Non-ftbular Regenerator for Gas-Turbin* Installations
cold-rolled steel sheet4is shown in Pig 2.
Regenerator beating surfaces way be made by assembling
these ribbed plates.rither as shown in rig 3a or as
shown in Fig 3b. In each case gas flows through the
channels between one pair of sheets and air between the
next pair of sheets and so on. The arrangement of
headers is sketched In Fig 4. The units can be used to
build up a regenerator heating surface which way bd
either rectangular or cylindrical. Regenerators based
on this construction were designed for a gas turbine of
50.14W, the operating tonditions of which are given. A
sketch of the rectangular form of regeneratoar is given in
Fig 5t two such units are required for a 50 W turbine.
The construction of tits regenerator is described and
performance and other, rolevant data are recorded In
Table 2. A cylindrical regenerator in which the air In
delivered to the outside or the cylinder to illustrated
in Pig 6 and the construction Is described. If necessary,
Card 2/3 the central part of the regenerator may be used t;o by-pass

A Now Type of Non-Tubular Regenerator for Gas-Turbine Installations
some of the San, Performance and other useful data ore,
given in the second part of Table 2. Other arranpmento
are, of courses possible and a sketch of a design with
internal air supply is offered in Pis 7. It is,concluded
that ribbed-shoot surfaces have considerable possibilities
for regenerator design, The types of regenerator
described in the &rtiolo are much cheaper and smaller
thanoximting typea, There Is no special difficulty to
manufacturing or assembling the now regenerators. There
are 7 figureal 2 tablq~s and 2 references. 1 of which is
Soviet and I English.

1 TITLE: Compilation of composite seismic'maps of the southeastern part of the
Dnepr-Donets basin
SOURCE: Ref. zh. Geofizika, Abe. 5D115
REF SOURCE: Tr. Ukr. n..-L. vyp. 14, 1965, 132-139
TOPIC TAGS: Dnepr basin seismic map, Donets basin seismic map
ABSTRACT: A second interpretation is made of seismic data obtained for the
southeastern part of the Dnepr-Donets basin, using supplementory data obtained
in drillings. Structural maps to the scale of 1:50, 000 and 1:100, 000 are plotted
for four horizons, from the Cenomanian to the Lower Permian. Iso-pachous line
maps, plotted on the basis of data obtained in seismic exploration, are also
discussed. A detailed analysis Is made of the tectonit: structure of the Upper
Paleozoic, Mesozoic, and Cenozoic stages on the basis of the above-mentioned

natural gas and petroleum deposits. A. Titkov. [Translation of abstract) ISPI
