to get the inipression of the lower (supporting) surface
of the tooth. The remaining portion of tbe tooth is made
from ordinary, slowly polymerizing, acrylic raixp which is

Sulfide in the Pyridin Solution.
Orig Pub: Prace Wrocl. Towarz. Nauk., 1956y B0 No 73) 5.47
Abstract: Redue tion of aromatic nitro-compoundA with H,;S In
CSHSR (I) was investigated. The reaction mecban-I sm
and the role of I were reviewed. It was established
that in the reduction of m-dinitrobenzene (11) in I m-
nitroaniline (111) and 3, V-dinitroazoxybenzene (IV)
are formed. Effects of tenperature., pressure and re-
action time on the yield of III and IV vere studied.

Yields of azoxy-compounds (ACC) increase with decreased
reaction temperature. A modified method for determining
the reaction velocity constants of azoxycondensation
(AOK) in I was developed. It was found that the rate of
azoxyberLtene-,(V) formation in I is 8 times greater than
it is in alcohol. The rate of AOX in I decreases but
slightly with the increase in teuperature. Addition of
water to I increases the rate of AOK, while addition of
alcohol decreases it. When I is saturated with H 8 prior
to the reaction the yield of amines increases. ;re role
and effect of the replacants on the quantity of AOC foxned
in I have not been determined. Lesser than the stochio-
metric quantities of HIS used resulted in the increased
yield of AOC. With the increased quantities of H4 8, the
quantities of amines formed also increases, while the

"Clinical Pathology of the Necrotic Inflammation of Kidney Pelvis
Leukoplakia.11
Budapest, Magyar Sebeszet, Vol XVI, No 2, May 1963, pilges 125-129.
Abstract: [Authors' German summary] The cases presented are of clini-
cal and literary significance. In the first of the caues, the kidney
was retained during the first operation since it showed no significant
changes. The mucosa of the pyelum showed macroscopic evidence of a
chronic iliflammation without an indication of leukoplakia. Therefore,
only the tissue mass was removed and the kidney retained. During the
second operation, the changes characteristic of chronic pyelonephritis
were evident. Because of the advanced macroscopic picture of leuko-
plakia of the pyelum, removal of the kidney was indicated. The second
case, presenting a similar picture, was solved by nepbrectOMY. 5 Weste

Abstract: (Authors' Hungarian summary] The mucopolysaacharide content of the
aorta was studied In hypothyroid subjects with and without atherosclerosis.
The results are as follows. 1) In hypothyroldism, the. chondroitin sulfate
A + C, hyaluronic acid and heparin-heparitin content of the aortic vall
is significantly higher than in euthyroid individuals. 2) The mucopoly-
aaccharide content of the vascular wall is higher when arteftoselerosis and
hypothyroidism are present jointly than in the healthy control aortas,
although it is significantly lower than in the aorta or hMthyroid subjects
free of atherosclerosis. 3) With development of the athrosclerosis, mainly
the heparin-heparitin content of the vascular wall Is decreased. 9 Eautorn

TOPIC TAGS: rabbit, coagulation, serum blood chemistry, alcohol
ABSTRACT: In a continuation of earlier"ob-
:servations, the following*concilusions were reached, 1) In the course of
cholesterol-feeding of rabbits, there is also mobilization of-a presumably
heparin-like substance which, however, can not prolong the recalcification
time. 2) There is an increase in the clearing-type activity of the nerum
.of cholesterol-fed rabbits which can definitely produce a temporary decrease
in the turbidity of lipemio serum. 3) The increase in cholesterol administme
tion will increase the blood heparin content measured by the thrombin-in.
activation method. The results are evaluated and the necessity of further
studies on the subject Is pointed out, It Is thought that the results
*represent a confirmation of An earlier hypothesis by the authors, the ex-
istence of an anti-cholesterolemic factor which develops in response to
.cholesterol administration, On the basis of the observations, this factor
develops as part of the general meaenchyme.Tuation &M must have a
heparin-like effect. Orig. art.'has*. d 2otgbl OTfeap: ~6599)

"Study of the Anticholesteremic Factor in Expprimental Cholesterol Sclerosis."
Budapest, Kiserletes Orvostudomany. Vol XIX, No 1, Jan 6?, pages 34-39.
Abstract: [Authors' Hungarian summaryl On the basis of earlier investilra-
tions, the possibility is raised that a lipolytic compound may appear in the
blood following a brief period of cholesterol feeding. To elucidate the
problem, the serum of cholesterol-treated and non-treated rabbits was ac-
ministered to healthy and cholesterol-fed rabbits. It was found that the
cholesterol level of healthy rabbits decreased by an average oAf 56.4 per cent
in response to the administration of serum (4 days, 1.5 n1, i.p.) from rabbits
treated with cholesterol over a 14 day period. When the serum treatment was
given to cholesterol-fed rabbits, the decrease was 40.6 per cant. An avorage
of 11.4 per cent change, In the cholesterol level, was registered when the
serum of healthy rabbits was used. On the basis of the experiments, it seems
to be confirmed that a so-called cholesterol-lovel-decreasing compound is
formed in the course of cholesterol feeding, Further investigation5 are
needed to elucidate the detailed properties of this-compound. 4 Hungarian,

only slightly affected by the scattered radiaticn. After the steel has
filled the mold (by bottom casting), an isotope rod carrying .3 mil'lictarles
of Cr5l in eazh of the two receptacles was puahed fo--ar times into the mold
at intervals cf 5 minutes. The cold ingot was out in two along its
longitud.inal axis, and the surface was measured in a square grid (by
squares of 9 cm2), and isc-dose curves were drawn. Instead of -the too
delicate scintillation 3ounter, Geiger-Mill.ler tubes of the type EKCO EW.3H
were used, which termit high-precision measurement of the soft
P-radiation of Cr 1. At a height of 90 am of the Ingot, isotope
distribution was measured every 1.2 Cm2. which gave a much finer isotope
distribution, as shown by graphs, but also indicated steps due to the
shockwise dcsage of the isotope. The authors establishad, tbal in ingots

asymmetrical. This was probably the cause of shrinkage .::avit:le3 ~r. ingots
cast by this method. The study of the crystallization of ste-al ingots is
very important because under improperly chosen condltic:nL3 of

TEXT: The author describes a number of Pitot-static pressure tubes, the
variation of static-pressure errors in relation to Mach numbers, and compLu.es
four itatic-pressure installations, i.e., fuselage tip, wing tip, vertical sta-
bilizer and fuselage openings. He arrives at the following oonelusionag 1) For
supersonic aircraft the static-pressure tube mounted on fuaolage tip will be
generally the most convenient type. 2) If the alroraft reaches only sonic
speeds, the static-pressure tube mounted on the wing tip will, give better i
sults- 3) For speeds below Mach 0.8, the static-pressure tube mounted on ver-
tical stabilizer, or fuselage openings properly mounted and set, will give sa-
tisfaetory results. There are 18 figures and 14 English references.
