These methods require great forces, wlli~ch increase non-linearily during the process. When a plane''blank Is deforued* over 75% the durability of the tool is Very low, due to vervH& specific pres- pures. The proposed method is distinguished by the application of additional pul- ling loads which increase deformation and somewhat reduce tile resultant effect of contact friction. The scheme of stresses (7-' and deformation under omiventional' loading is shown in figure 1. Figure 2 shows the loading scheme by the proposed method. The unit operating ttcgprding'to the new.method is a combination of roUs 1 Card 1/3 S/2715/63/OOD/C-DI/014/028 A method for the pressure working of metals A006/AIOI (figure 3) and 'movable clamps 2, where the material to be worked is olamped (3). Loading by pulling forces is performed with the aid of a bydraulic cylinder. (figure 4). The device can be placed upon rolls 6. Both typea of applied load have a different drive and do not depend upon each other. During the operational cyale ce~-' the pulling forces can be regulated depending on the varylng resistance, of the material. V. This Institute developed a process for explosive forming large (up to 8-10 M2) ship-hull elements made of steel plates 8 mm t4iick,, The procesis has been successfully used by a Slovak shipyard in Komarrio which specializes in building river and coastal vessels. After an extensive series of exp-erimerits, sand war, found to be the most suitable pressure transferring medium. The inol r1. is built. of: reinforced concrete slightly below the ground level and isprovided with several venting holes for air trapped between the mold and the formed plate. The mold surface is covered with a heavy (1.5 mm thick) rubber foil which prevents direct contact between the formed plate and mold and damage to the latter. The plate to HWDIL, Karel. Prolonged exposure considerably re- duces the ESR. and microscopically the erythrocytes show distinct signs of damage. Since a similar effect can be brought about by simple heating it is concluded that the retardation of the ESR is a result of morphological changes in the erythrocytes caused primarily by the thermal effects of supersonics. The number of surviving cells, the pH change, and the amoun't'of free ID102 formed as a result of exposure to ultrasound, were determined In every experimental sample The experiments conclusively demonstrated the indirect effect of uitrasound on suspended bone-marrow cells, manifested in a decrease in the, number: of surviving cells, and showed that it increased with the length of exposure of: the suspension solutions. A connection between this effect and physicochemical changes in t~W_, suspension medium was also demonstrated. . In the case of the indivevt ef C-ect,. the c6~Arsa of" survival after exposure of the medium to ultrasound is far.more :dependent on Lhe hydrogen ion concentration than on the nitrite ion concentration but is not completely explained by either. In conclusion, this study de=onsteated the indirect .effect of ultrasound on surviving isolated bone-marrow cells and its c-lose 'connection with the formation of chemically active substances'~ However, the I derailed mechanism of this effect requires furt her study. The steel is intended for the manufacture of gas turbinerunners. Welding tests on a VUS-2r- machine, tension and bending tests, and metallographical analysis proved the satisfactory weldability of the steel plates, up to 100 mm thick. The preheating temperature in welding should be strictly maintained at 4000C; after welding the joint is held for I hour at the same temperature. Annealing is performed at 6800C, cool- ing is ionducted with the furnace. "V-hof spel. extra" electrodes with basic coating are recommended. Distilled water2 methanol, benzene, or mercury were placed underneath the measuring probe of the counter. The temperature was kept at 25 00. 1. For small electric fields (N = 1800 to 2200 V), a sufficiently large diameter of the sphere at the end of the probe (D = 1.22 mm) and a large distance from the liquid to the probe (H = 5 to 10 mm), the vapour does not influence the operation of the counter. For high electric fields, small D and small H, water vapour and methanol cause discharges in the counter. 3. Benzene or mercury vapour do not cause such discharges. 1+. The approximate composition of the alloy (in %) : 0 - 15 - 0.25 Sn (0.51% lower than in the previously applied BrI alloy), 0.20 - 0.40 Zn, max. 0.10 Ni, max. 0.05 Fe, max. 0.15 Pb, max. 0.015 Al. When melting the smelt is refined with "medik" salt in order to eliminate the excess of hydrogen in the metal, and then a gradual reduction is performed by a succes- sive adding of 0.3 - 0.5% Zn and 0.05 - 0.07% P. The composition of the "medik" salt (in %): chalk 15, soda 10, T25 sand 40, commercial pyrolusite 35. Machine elements with electric conductivity equal to 70 - 75% of that of pure copper are successfully cast of this alloy. To obtain higher electric conductivitles (over 85;15) P addition for reduction is decreased to 0.015% thereby decreasing the Card 112 3/123/6,-'/000/009/015/017 Copper alloy castings possessing ... A052/AlOl. degassing degree of the smelt. Compared with BrI alloy (401,9 of pure copper electric conductJvity) the new alloy cuts casting rejects by 1% and reduces tin consumption. Owing to high electric conductivity of the alloy, the weight of a number of castings can be cut down by 25%. The total saving due to the intro- duction of E60 alloy makes up 4,700 krons per one ton of casting. There are 5 figures. V.
