Abstract: [Authors' English summary modified] The osteomyelitic patient
material of the Clinic is analyzed. Diagnostic difficulties are, in
general, encountered in cases of the myelogenous group of chronic osteo-
myelitis. Seven cases are described which resembled in part osteogenous
or medullogenous sarcoma and in part a cyst. The pathomechanism of the
periosteal reaction and spicule formation, so important In bone tumor
diagnostics, as well as of the moth-hole structure of bone is discussed.
The decisive importance of I histological examination in these cases is
stressed. 7 Eastern European, 12 Western references.

Abstract : A drop in the content of thrombocytes in the
blood averagin g about 40% was observed in rab-
bits which were administered cortisone in doses
of 12.5 mg for a period of 3 days. Several days
after the administration of cortisone was halted
the thrombocyte content reverted to normal. Upon
the administration of ACTG C~drenocorticotropic

Abstract: [Authors' -17'nglish summary modified] Containing citric acid, boric
acid, chloramphenicol and Superseptyl, the domestically produced "Septimetrin"
is used especially.2>r the so-called dry treatment of fetal menbra-le re-
tention and its consequences. The dose recotunended for various species is
given. The drug should be introduced into the womb 6-24 hours after de-
livery. in 15-20 minutes violent uterine contractions are observed and the
membrane is shed or can be renoved in 70-80 zer cent of the cases. The drug
is a strong bactericide and promotes the completion of uterine involution.
Warm aqueous solutions of the drug can be used for infusion in cases of in-
comolete uterine involution. It is especially effective in the treatment of
brucella. infected herds. Also used for treatment of uteri-rie prolapse, the

Ab3tract.- [Authors' German summary] On the basis of 60 cases, the most
important indications for the instrumental removal of ureter stones are dis-
cussed. The present experiences are in agreement with the conclusions arrived
at in the literature according to which stones which are not prone to spon-
taneous passage, especially those localized in the lower third of the ureter,
should be removed with the Zeiss loop in order to -prevent later complica-

Abstract: [Author's En.alish summary modified) A method is described for
the dia;-,rnosis of sll~ht (45-90 and not more than 1200) torsion of the
uterus and the direction of the torsion by vaginal examination. According
to the experiences, the slightly opened portio vaginalis is displaced to
ward the direction of the torsion and upward, simultaneously, in relation
tc the brim of the pelvis. As the sYmPtOm is a consequence of the torsion,
its diagnostic value is certain. By creating abnormal topic conditions in-
side the uterus, the dislocation results in retention of thr fetus. The
above diagnostic method makes rectal examinations and the lying down of the
animals superfluous. Cervical and uterine torsion of 1~5-900 was diagnosed
in 80 out of 387 deliveries with complication at the department Of Obstet-
rics. Torsion to the left was more prevalent. All 7 references are Western.

Abstract: The significance of iatrogenic infections in urological practice
and means for the prevention of these were discussed. The principal causes
of such infections are the lock of proper sterilization of the instruments
used and bacterial infections by micrQorganisms dwelling in the lower urether
in the course of urological endoscopic examinations. Methods for ensuring
the Prevention of such infections were discussed on the basis of the
authors' experience and data published in the literature. 21 references,
