The starting material NaLa(Mo04)2-2H2Q was synthesized by precipitation reaction of sodium molybdate and lanthanum nitrate - in solution. Pure NaLa(MO04)2 with MP = 1163C and scheelite structure was obtained b calcining the hydrated product at-900C. The crystals up to 60 mm long and up to 12 m in diameter were grown from pure NaLa(MO04)2 melt. The laser effect at a fairly low generation threshold was observed at room temperature in Na(,a(M004)2 single crystals activated with 1 at% Nd.
