ABSTRACT: The process of oil shale thermal treatment is closely connected with time-changes 6f temperature field characteristics, both in a single piece and in some section of lump (or granular) materisl. The present article describes and discusses results of an ex- perimental investigation of the dynamics of,a thermal field changing in a lump and in a layer of granular oil shale under condition of linear propagation of the thermal flux. In prac- tice, the problem is reduced to the reproduction of temperature field changes in a semi-bounded rod with one-sided beat supply. The thermal flux propagates along the normal to the isothermal Card 1/2 heating surface. TITLE; Investigation of the Dynamics of Kukersite-Oil Shale Heating With One-Sided Heat Supply (Izucheniye dinamiki nagreva slantsa- kukersita pri odnostoronnem podvode tepla) The practical application of the results obtained is possible for the case of studying heat emission in an oil shale layer subjected to underground gasification. The characteristics of the temperature field are conaidered for two thermal regimes: the unsettled and stationary regimes. The applic- ability of the semi-infinite seam theory is studied in order to give a method of mathematical description of an under- ground chamber, that is an oil-shale seam system, under various conditions and In a balanced hydrodynamic state. Under this name is understood to be such a state as when the blast air is brought in at a low compression and the gas is exhausted at a low depression. Approximate equations are formulated to define the relative permeability of a granular bed in the underground chamber and in the surrounding rock at different zones of the whole system. Recommendations are given for conducting further investi- gation of some phenomena by means of isothermic models with a view of developing a scientific method of hydrodynamic calculation for the underground gasification process.
