After bending, the ovality of the pipes must not exceed 50% of the tolerance for the outer pipe diameter, The space between pipes of a finished coil must hot be less than 0.7 mm. The liquid flow in a double-pipe coil must be at least 120 1/h between the pipes and nct less.than 220 1/h t-'Arrough a pipe of 10 mm diameter at 2.5 kg/cm2 input pressure. -To fix the Lnmer pipe in respect to the outer pipe, the outside pipe wall is indented by heated steel balls at experimettally predetermined distance!5. ABSTRACT: A heat-exchanger with VTl-l titanium tubes and titanium-clad-steel tube plates has been designed and built by the All-Union Design Scientific Research Institute of Chemical Machinery. Titanium-clad steel plates were rolled on an experimenral basis by the Izhorsk Plant im. A. A. Zhdanov,,which is planning to I produce clad plates up to 45 mm, thick (cladding layer up to 7 mm), 800-1300 mm. I wide, and 1500-2800 mm long. Titanium tubes were joined to the cladding layer by manual TlG welding. Visual inspection and hydraulic tests (32 g/cM2 pressure) of I the welds did not reveal any defects. The welds were tested for corrosion resistance in 10% hydrochloric acid. It was found that the corrosion rate amounted to 0.0029 to 0.0023 mm/year, calculated on the basis of 190-600 hr tests. Tsvetnaya metallurgiya, no. 4, 1965, 75-W TOPIC 'DWS: chromium.compound,.chlorine compound, vapor pressure, be-it of:subllmation~ ABSTRACT: Werner (U.S. Bureau of Mines, Techn. Papers, ne. 577, 1937) had, estiab- lished that CrCl in a chlorine atmosphere forms CrCl 4 stable above 700*C and decom- posing at convenhonal temperature. Recent studies (S.A.iShchukarev, M. A.' bran, skaya. Zh. organ. khimii, 24, v. 12, 2109 (1954)), however, do not completely tally with Nerner's findings. Particularly unusual is the close similarity Qf the heats of sub- limation of Cr-Cl and CrCl2, In this connection, the present authors investigat.ad by- the static metho2 the pressure of saturate and unsaturated, vapors of Ci'Cl ~ in a' sol 3 dered ampoule -with a quartz -diaphragm manAmeter, over the 873-003*K range. Findings: below 1065*K the curve of saturat r ressure changes from a straight to a s1 line; the inflection point of the curve c osely coincidesvith the melting point of CrC.12. At temperatures exceeding the dew point by 150-160* the pressure in the vessel Card 1/2 UDc- 669.26 OEM mn~ ACC NRt AP5026977 deviategs in the plus direction from that calculated according to,the low of'ideal gases. This fact, together with the bending of the curve of saturated vapor pres- sure, indicates that disproportionation of CrCl namely: 3 2 prclaj'-:~ (Cr C14), [crC121 takes place in the saturated vapor region, whereas the cotiverae*process of conpro'por- tionation takes place in the unsaturated vapor regiont Orig. am' has.- 3 formulas SUB CODE: 07, l1/ SUBM DATE: 12Feb64/ ORIG REF: 002/ OTH RIFt 006 2/2 Crd L GALITSKIY, R., kand.tekhn.nauk Pamphlet on the development of the network of grain elevators In the U.S.S.R. in IM years ("Grain elevators In the U.S.S.R., 1917- 1957" by A.V.Borodin. Lett. v.~ 13, 3.5.5, 1964), in which the cross section for emission of classical:. quanta was caldu- 1 i A lated. In the present paper the authors calculate the cross section for double bremsstrablung in the center-of-mass system of the colliding particles, under the that one of the photonsis soft but the other can have arbitrary,energy.1 :The electron energy is assumed quite high, so that expansion in bowers of the elec-I .,tron emission angle'is possible. The principal terms of the expe=ions are ~calcu-_ i' lated and the correction terms are estimated, The resultant expwessions axe use-. ful for the calculation of various processes involving photons. By vay of an example.. the authors calculate to logarithmic accuracy the' sinale-bremastrablimg. cross section for electron-electron or electron-positron collisions.
