Abstract In the daily ration of the control group
cows the content of carotene amounted to 232
mg and of the experimental group which recei-
ved 10 kg of carrots it amounted to 962 mg.
Observations which lasted for 24 days showed
that the average daily milk -yield of the con-
trol group cows amounted to 10.9 kg and of the
stperimental group to 10.6 kg each; eva-

and of carotene to 0.203 and 0.250. Carotene
in the amount of 0.14 and 0 68 percent passes
into the milk, 103.0 and 66:84 percent are
excreted with feces and 0.0 and 32.48 percent
are deposited in the organism of the cow.

consisted of 30 patients between 40 and 81 years suffering from clinical and humoral

that the average range of cholesterolemia in the age range 25

values above 250 definitely abnormal# 'A direct causal'~relation

in the diet and changes in the lipid spectrum of the piasma.

Abstract Carotenoid (C) content in 3 types of corn flour was in-
vestigated, in relation to the nature of milling in
different cuts obtained by fractionization of the grist.
The content of C and zeaxantine differs from that of
the whole flour. With the decrease of yield %, C and
zeaxantine content in the flour orows. It has beem
found that in flour samples with yields of: 0-30; 0-45
and 0-70, the content of C and derivatives is always
higher than corresponding content in the flour. with

Abstract Using methods that axe peculiar to powder metallurgy, the duthor
had developed a method for obtaining magneto-dielectric materials of
the double nickel ferrite type. The method consists of pressing and
sintering a suitable mixture of pure oxides of Fe, Ni, and Za. The
double ferrite has magaeto-aielectric properties, contributing to its
use at high freqtxency, and is characterized by a high resistaned (small-
volume losses). To be usable in the frequency bancl of 0.15 -- 4.5 me,
the ferri.te composition should have a NiO/ZaO ratio of 0.35 and a
ratio (Nio 4- ZnO)/Fe2O3-= 1

Abstract: The effect of the solvent, catalyst, temperature,
reaction time, C12 consumption, and concentration
on the degree of chlorination of acridone M
with C12 has been investigated. The chlorination
of I with a solvent saturated with CL2 or HCI In
the presence of 30% H202 was also investigated.

Abstract: It has been shown that the maximum degree of
chlorination of I in a stream Of C12 Is achieved
In glacial CH3COOH (30 min, 1000); the product
is 2,4,5,7-tetrachloroacridone (II) the structure
of which has been confirmed by reverse syntheses.
The chlorination of I in CH 30H, C2H5 oh,
CH3CH(OH)CH 3, n-C4H9OH, iso-C5H110H gives non-
separable mixtures of I and its various chlorine
derivatives. The chlorination of I with a mixture
of HC1 and H 2SO4 in the presence of H202 also
gives mixed products with a maximum C12 content
of 33.2%. When II is heated with POC131 2,4,5,7,9-
pentachloroacridine (III) is obtained. A solu-
