.TEXT: Single crystals of 1.5-dibromairti;ltra4lictinoi.,Ae
~(C7 H30)2 Br 2] in the form of long Idark-yellow in-cedles were
obtained by slow evaporation from a solution in pyridine and also
by sublimation in a normal atmosphere. The parijimeters of the
monoclinic unit cell were found by X-ray motusuroments to be:
a = 11.24 1 0.02, b = 13 43 t 0.03, C = -3 4 93 J; 0. 01 X,
P = 910231 � 121, V = 59A V. The density was calculated' from
'the data to be 2.03 g/cm3 which is close to the value obtained
from pyknometric measurements (2.02). The numbior of molecules in
the unit cell is two, and the space group Is
C5 - P2,/a. The deviition of the bromin4i and *xygen atoms ort

different sides of the plane of the anthraquinc);ji(i ring was found
to be 0-158 and-0.130 respectively. The bond lengths of

Abstract- from one of the numerous cultures -~f the bacteria
of the Intestinal group. In tests with artificl-
ally-contaminated raw tap water, the ieactic-n was
positive up to 111 days after contanimition w1th a
typhoid culture with an original concentraticn of
ICO-1000 bacteria per I ml; In well water, up to
4-7th day. In raw tap water, preliminarily con-
taminated with coliform bacteriumi, the reaction
of the growth of the titer of the phage was ob-
