TEXTs The kinetics of decomposition of dinitroso pentgmethylene tetramane
W and benzosulfo hydrazide (II) was studied as dependent on temperature
and a large amount of ingredients of rubber mixtures. Ths volume of the
gas separuted at constant temperature as a function of time was expressed
in ml/g of the pore-forming substance. The decomposition curves for pure
Il increase with increasing temperature. The end volume of the separated
gas at 250C and normal pressure is 120-130 ml/g. Tselofor (a mixture of I
with kaolin, 10) does not decompose at 1450c, partially at 1650C, The
mixture ingredients accelerate, retard, or do not affect the decomposition
of I and II, Clarification of the relationship between the chemical str-ac.
ture of the ingredients investigated and their effect on the decomposition
of pore-forming substances is rendered difficult by the absence of an exact

which the cliMise bands of the emission spectrum acquire a structure under the
influence of &rgon; various argon pressures were used. An explanation is
offered for this process. The data obtained are compared with the results cited
in the works by Vencatersvexlu and Rao, and some disagreement Is noted. The
cessation of emission in the visible apectrum in the presence of argon (at
10 mm mercury), observed by Vencateravarlu, 13 confirmed by the authors' exper-
iments, Also 6onfirmed is the vanAsbing of the emission spectrum of iodine
vapors, previously observed by the,authors, except Lor the 3400 A region in
the 1pesence of air at approximately 12 imumercury. An investigation was made
of the effect of argon on the absorption of iodine (using the hyperfine struc-
ture of the 5461 A Hg line) and also of -the effect of absorption of I , both
in the presence and in the absence of argon, on the width of the line& of the
5461 A hyperfine structure. A greater broadening of the absorption line was
