Abstract LAuthors' English summary modifiedj: The authors
report a case of benign inoculation lymphorAiculosis with
erythema nodoea in a 56-year old woman. The laboratory tests
confirming the diagnosis included positive intradermal reactions
with the psittacosis heteroantigen and with the specific antigen
prepared from lymph node pus, complement-fixation and hemaggluti-
nation-inhibition tests, etc. Clinical and epidemiologic data
showed the presence of a non-bacterial purulent inguinal adeno-
pathy and close contact with cats.

This study is based on !12 cases trtated ano iollowed up for 5 months. As regards
the physiopathological mechanism of the disease, there are different terminologies
and interpretations. Endarteritis obliterans presupposes an infectious factor which
it was possible ko demonstrate in only 14% of the cases. The term thrombo-angiosis

presupposes trophic degenerative lesions piovoked bY bio-humoral, endocrine or
toxic factors. All these aetiological facturs influence the organism through a
nervous mechanism responsible for the progrest; of the disease once lt~; on.~'et
has been provoked by the viiiccro-corlico-vis( eral reflex, the anatoino-functional
basic condition in this disease. For cases of this description, the terni 'chronic
thrornbospafitic arteriopathy' is proposed; the therapeutic attitude Should he
aetioiogical treatment and interruption of the nociceptive reflex by lunihar procain
block, lumbar ganglionectomy or arterioectomy, etc. I'lle functiomil classifica-
tion of the clinical forms leads to conclusions with regard to prognosis and treat-
ment: First stage of arteriopathy, compensated, with pain and fatigue of tile legs,
faint pulse. oscillometric index 0-2 and intermittent claudication on long di.-Aances.
Second stage of artericipathy, with beginning decompensation, with tile same
symptoms and more frequent claudication. after less than 200 m. Third stage of
Rrieriopathy, with severe decompensation, when pain is present even when the
subject rests, and during the night. Fourth stage, with irreversible decompensa-
tion, and with tile appearance of gangrene. The therapeutical results and the prog-
nosis depend therefore on the functional stage of the disease and not at all on tile

popliteal, is performed. The results are better when synipathectomy is carried out

Abstract 7he kinetics of caprolactam polycondensation in the
presence of traces of water (0.5 to 2%) and co-catalysts
(acetic acid, E-aminocaproic acid, hexamethylenediannonium
adipate) was studied. The polycondensation was carried out
iindar pressure, 11,0 being oliminsted during the process, in
a closed vessel, h20 being prevent in the reaction medium.
Also the hydrolysis of polycaprolactain in a closed vessel in the
presence of tracem Of H20 is deacribed.

T_UT, Cyanoethyl po~yamides (CP) are proauced by substituting an H atom
in the amido group by a side chain formed by the cyanoethyl. group when
acrylonitrile acts directly on polyamides. To obtain CP, a polyamide
(polycaprolactam, polyhexamethylene adipamiae, a copolyamide or a
partially substituted polyamide) in the form of a pov(der, granules, fiber
or filament in solution or in suspension is treated with acrylonitrile in
a dilute inert solvent (dioxan, benzene, etc.), or without it, at 900C,
by stirring in the presence of basic-type catalysts such as the hydroxides
of the alkaline metals, quaternary ammonium base% etc. Alternatively,
acrylonitrile polymerization inhibitors such as phenyl-~-naphthyl amine,
etc. can be used. This makes it possible to get CP with various degrees
of substitution, i.e. polyamidea with varying amounts of oyanoethyl

groups in the macronolecular chain. In practice all the H atoraz in the
amidogroups can be substituted. Example. 4 g of polycaprolactam powder
(precipitated with water from a HCOOH solution are suspended in a solution
made up of 10 ml acrylonitrile in 50 ml dioxan stabilized with 0-5~ of
phenyl-1--naphthyl amine. This is heated, after the addition of O.ij g of
powdered NaOH,at 75 - 770C for 1 hr stirring continuously., The mixture
is cooled, filtered, washed with water and then with acetone until the
latter ceases to be colored; then.dried in vacuo in a drying oven at a
temperature of 50 - 600C. This produces E.5 g of GP in the form of a
yellowish powder containing 6-51,; nitrile Ki and 16.3;4 general Ni; the
degree that H atoms in the amido groups are substituted by cyanoethyl
groups amounting to 70~. The CP produced in the manner patented here
combine the properties of polyamides and polyacrylonitriles. LAbstracter~
