Abstract The experiments were performed on the isolated hearts of
cats and raWts after Langendorf. In the first series
of experiments digalen-neo and digloi.lon, in a concentration
of 100,000-lt20,000, caused a weak coronary vasoconstric-
tion in the hearts that had stopped b-sating; the vasocon-

Abstract : striction became more pronounced when ltlO.000 - 135,000
concentrations were used. Digalen-neo caused a stronger
coronary constriction than digicilen. When atropine, in
a concentration of ltSO,000 - ltlOO,OCO was added to those
preparations, coronary constriction was prevented. In
certain instances a coronary vasodilatation was observed.
In the second series of experiments# Ferformed on functioning
hearts of cats and rabbits, digalen-neo and digicilen, in a
concentration of 1:25,000 - lt2O,OOO, caused a weak coronary
casoconstriotion which with an increa-re in concentration (1310,,.
000 - 1150,000) became pronounced. Tk.er46 was a simultaneous
prolongation of the systole and alowir.g of the rhythm.
Digclen-noo had a greater effect than digicilen.

Ukraine'. -This-facilitates-the penetration-of cycl3nes-into the Arctic,-bringing--,
relatively warm air masses from the North A-:Iantic. The variety LpI la is charac-
terized by the Intrusion of cold air masses across Scandinavia and the northern
part of the Europew$SSR I nto.-the -tempera t,,3 and s3uthern latitudes of- the- European
SSSR and Western -Siberia.- --Both these varieties can be encountered frequently-in
E and C forms of circulation. The study was based on charts of the mean pressure
field and of the -kinematics- of- natural synoPtIc periods, daily--synoptic charts,
meteorological tables of observations by polar stations, charts of pressure pat-
terns at the 500-mb level and catalogues of the circulation forms and types of
processes In the Arctic. Data for 1939-1963 were ased. The authors discuss the
character of-development of processes over Eurasia and in the Arctic for the selec-
----------ted-va-riet-i,es-and-o-iso in-th-e-three-riatural synoptic--periods following them. The
-analysis- shows-- that -the-Vangengeym-varl eties- of--forms
determining the circulatory relationship between processes in the Arctic and in
