TEXT: A patent is granted for a multichannel telemetric recording device
with a single servodrive for all measuring systems. A bimetallic relay with an
ohmic heater serves as a timer for commutating the-measuring systems of the 2-
channel device. A switching relay closes the cirepit of an electromagnetic
clutch and connects a common sensitive relay wLth the respective bridge measur-
ing circuit. The brush of a compensating potentiometer is connected in serles
with the sensitive relay Into the diagonal of the measuring system. The electro-
.magnetic clutch couples the am of the potentiometer brush with the servomotor
shaft. Depending on the error sign, the sensitive relay close-9 the circuit of
one or another relay determining the direction of rotation of the motor. At the

end of the measuring time intervil, when the voltage has been taken from the
electromagnetic clutch, the latt4i is coupled with the sIffing arm of the poten-,
tiometek, of the second measuring system by the action of a spring. For commu-
tating the measuring systems of the It-channel device it is proposed to use a
collector commutator with a special actuator. To achieve a higher degree of
stability, the measuring system'has auxiliary resistors, which are disconnected
upon balancing of the bridge. The recording curve Is almost continuous, since
after the bridge has been balanced the potentiometer remains in the same posi-
tion until the next measurement. There are 4 figures.

volume of precipitates. In the reaction of silver nitrate
a general attenuation of the ability of the alkali metal
ions of forming the mixed salt with heavy metal occurs
(as compared to ferricyanide). There are 10 figures, 7

ABSTRACT: By determination of solubility and measuring the ap arent
volume of the precipitate the system ZnSO M Fe(CN5 H 20
4- 31 61-
(M a Kj Rb and Go) was investigated. In the system
ZnSO4-K 31Fs`(CN)61-H2O only normal zinoferricyanide is formed,
which has the composition Zn Are(CN)6] - With a surplus of
potassium ferricyanide considerable pe tization of zinc ferri-
cyanide occurs. In theqystem ZnSO 4 --Rb 3tpe(CN)6] -'H2 0 the double
salt Rb,[Fe(CN)61.6Zn 3[pe(CN)6]2 'a formed. Formation of the
mixed salt was determined by measuring the apparent volume of
the precipitate. The results obtained by analyses are shown
by tables 4 and 5 and by figures 5 and 6. In the aystem

and figures 8 and 9 show the variation with respect to time
of the apparent volume of the precipitate. On the curve of
the variation of the apparent volume of the precipitate a
maximum occurs in the system ZnS04_Cs 311?e(CN)6]""20 at n - 90
(n - molar ratio M3[14PU)6j: ZnS04 in the initial mixture)v
which indicates the formation of the mixed salt. The solubility
of the precipitate depends on the ionic radius of the alkali
metal. The larger this radiusp the more insolable the precipi-
tate. There are 10 figures, 7 tables, and 13 referenoesp

Suvorovskaya, Turchidag Mountain and Mountainous Station of GAO-AS USSR, The
quality of star images was estimated according to the Danjon-Coudero scale, and
turbulence angles t" were calculated. The dependence of the image quality
estimate, expressed in.points, on zenith distance is presented by different types

ABSTRACT: Applying the method of finite differences the author solves the plane
problem of the warming-up of heating panels. The solution is reduced
to graphic charts, with the help of which it is possible to calculate the
fields of temperature in panels of various thickness and with different
spacing between the pipes of the register. The temperatures obtained
by this method differ from the true experimental values by not more
than one degree.

TEXT: Observations were performed by means of meniscus telescopes of types
A37-7 (AZT-7) (D - 200 mm) , and 'r,?M (TEM) - 140. (D -- 140 mm) at three stations:
Suvorovskaya, Turchidag Mountain and Mountainous Station of GAO-AS USSR. The
quality of star images was estimated according to the Danjon-Coudera scale, and
turbulence angles t" were calculated. The dependence of the image quality
estimate, expressed in.points, on zenith distance is presented by different types
of curves for all the stations. In exceptional cases the proportionality to see z
is observed. In comparing stations of observations, t"4 0.18 is adopted as the

The article uUtee that despite the fact that Q fever has been
reported throughout the U8Mj* i.e... the European part., the Transcaucasus,
Central Asia, and Kazakhstan,, the epidemiology.. clinical manifestations.,
patbogenesis, and laboratory diagnosis of this disease have been studied
Ujrl;fficiently. Since its route of entry into the hirran organism is the
$am as that of other pathogenic diseases, i.e., dysentery.. typhoid fever,,
polioWel-Itisq and infectious hepatitis, it was decided to study the coexM
of these diseues 1n places there they were most videep-md.
in 1935. and 19@6 in an Industrial city.. a number of cases of lnfec--
Uous hepatitis occurred: 59-70 Of the cases occurring between October -
ard February. Outbreaks occurred W families, schools, nurseries, kinder-
gartens, and dormitories. The majarity of the patients, 57%, were between
.the ages of 16 and 30. This outbreak was followed by a number of cases
of a febrile disease which was diagnosed as virus influenza. The clinical
minifestations and treatment of both diseases are described.
Dried specimens of blood were obtained from 81 patients, put into
qolution, and subjected to complement fixation reactions with either
Rickettsia burnetti antigens or other ricb!ttsial entUpns. Of the, 57 specimens,-
reacted with R. burnetti) 31 gave positive reacLions.
It is recommended that complement fixation reactions with R. burnetti-,...."
belcarried out in any locality where there is a mass outbreak of a febril;
disease and that if the reaction cannot be carried out locally, dried blood
