finding is that excessive grinding of the enriching and defatted coals, increasing

ABSTRACT: It was shown elsewhere that if a system of linear differential equations with con-
stant coefficients has an eigenvalue with negative real members, when the "community of
state" condition is satisfied the origin can be reached from every point in phase space by meazu
of modulus-limited control. If the equation system has an eigenvalue with positive real mem-
bers, then it is not possible to reach the origin from every point in phase space by these
means. The present author solves the problem of the construction of multiple initial states
(controllability region) from which the origin can be reached. In practice, self-unstable sys-
tems are stabilized by a corresponding selection of negative feedback coefficients; however, if
the negative feedback signal amplitude Is limited, the points in phase space from w1rich it Is
not possible to reach the origin in an open system are the same for a closed system. Two
examples are given. Relationships are obtained which define the controllability reglon in

phase space. These relationships make It possible to clarify the structure of the controllabil-
ity region, to determine its dimensionality, and to construct this region for specific systems.
In constructing the controllability region, the greatest technical difficulties are encountered

By the simplified method of Brecher and Cronkite the thrombocyte count was de-

tertnined in 100 healthy children 4 months to 14 yr. of age. No silicon-coating of
the material was necessary. The blood sample may be taken either by vent-
puncture or from a finger tip. The blood, diluted in a blood-count pipette, may be
allowed to stand for several hours without the results being altered. The error In-
herent in this method, it the count to made in 50 fields of BOrker's chamber. to
t 4.82%. The average values were 273,950 + 10,580 (with extremes of 175,000-
360$000), No differences in average values ;Pere ascertained for the thrombocyte
counts In individual age groups-, no relationship of the thrombocyt* count with the
sex has been established either.
