ment with experiments on 0.1% carbon steel The authors endeavor-
ed to determine the iron ions electric charge by means of the
formula Ea - Q r RTycthy where 17a - activation energy of diffu-
sion, and 0 - activation energy of the process. but found that the
value of 0 is too similar to that of Ea ands therefore, the formu-

the effect of thermal cycling through the polymorphic transformation
temperature,on the diffusion of Co in Ti. Each cycle consisted of
holding the specimens at.a.-tomperature in the P-range for 4 min,

(i.e. taking the specimen to the a-range) and then heating it again~

The thermal and volume effects were determined for the polymorphous e-Y a trnn-
formation occuring in thallium at 505-3K, and the temperature dependence, rif the
thermal expansion coefficient of tballium was obtained for the tempr~rnture rnnro~
from 120 to 520K. On the basis of the results, computations were carried out for
changes In the compressibility factor Cv, enthalpy, gram-atom volume, entropy,
and free energy of thallium in the a and 0 regions. The resultu were compared

Ication has been investigated. Single-crystal thallium specimens were heated to 260C
'in an oil bath, held at that temperature for 10 min, and air cooled. X-ray diffrac-
~tion patterns showed that the above heat treatment did not affect the structure of

ABSTRACT: A number of Koacheal oilfieldLB do not pay sufficient attention to the
removal of emulsions from crude&. Chemicals used for this purpose considerably
increase petroleum production costs. For this reason tbe:personnel of the de-
mulsifying unit of the Koschagyl Petroleum Production Administration made an
effort to reduce the outlay which this operation involves. Heavy crude& con-
tain a considerable amount of tar., asphaltene, paraffin wax.and water. The
latter in turn contains salt, acidand alks,34 hydroxide. The resistant mulsion
of crude produced at the Koschaal oilfields contains up to 30 percent water.
The method of demulsLfVJAg an-de oil at Koschsal required a considerable mount
of kerosene contact., which increased the petroleum production cost. For this
reason efforts were -ad to develop another demulsification method and K.A. Fomin
suggested that crude be demulsified by using a cushion of contact water. The

unit he developed is equipped with filters and master tap, shown in the flow
chart of Fig. 1 and in sketches of Fig. 2 and 3. The author describes the
newly developed equipment in detail. Its various parts axe indicated, their
size and installation, and an outline of the course of the operation is pro-
vided. As a result of the introduction of this equipment., a considerable
saving was realized. After the demulsification of petroleum, its water con-
tent dropped from 2 percent to 0-5-1-05 perceni. Further efforts are being
made to reduce the consumption of the contact medium. There are 3 figures.

information on the Sun, Moon, Earth, and planets, the Yenrbook contains
the ephemerides of the lunar crater Moesting A, which until ID60 were
published by the Berliner Astronomisches Jahrbuch, tl3erlin Astronomical
Yearbook], and whose regular publication has now been undertaken by the
Institute of Theoretical Astronomy of the USSR it the request of the Union's
Committee on Ephemerides. The solar, lunar, and planetary coordinates
in the Yearbook are based on data supplied by the British Nautical Almanac
aa stipulated by the Astronomical Union. The material in the Yero-book was

TEIM The author proposes a block diagram for the calculation of the
coefficients of the approximating polynomial according to the method of
least squares with the method of Chebyehev. As an example for the
realization of these block diagrams with a three-addrese computer the
author given a program composed for the machine BESK of the Academy of
Sciences USSR. The program contains 128 instruction@ and 5(n+1) working
cells, where n + I is the number of interpolation points.

ABSTRACTs In due time Rasser [Ref 11 transferred the theorems of in-
completepas of Mel to systems with bounded Carnap rule of
rank < u3 . The author extends these results to systems with
bounded Carnap rule of very considerable transfinite rank. The
possibility of the construction of a constructive model of the
classical analysis is discussed. The notion of a "true model"
is introduced, and it is proved that in the constructive
analysis of Ackermann [Ref 31 the construction of the true
model of a certain classical system S 0 is not possible.
