Abstract : The statistical theory of Belen'kiy-Landau is used to
calculate the probabilities of production of heavy
unstable particles. The decay temperature is estimated
for K mesons and hyperons. For this pLxpose, a coq)a-
rison is made of the effective cross sections of the

obtained in the first non-vanishing approximtion of
perturbation theory on the basis of the PS (PS) va-
riant of meson theory vith application of the reVIa-
rization prodedure of Pauli-Villars. A"loGous cal-
culations have been carried out for the K-e, interac-
tion, and the operator of the interaction of the K
meson field with the nucleon field is taken in the
form W = Q;/m) ( -F V- ) (Zc), where (f- is the operator
of the nucleon field and x is the operator of the k-me-
son field. Both cross sections are found to be of -the
same order of maL;Atude; it is therefore concluded that
the decay temperature for heavy particles should be ap-
proximately the same as for pions. Next, on the batsis
of statistics of an ideal gas, the author calculatet;
the number of particles of various types, produced i_'pon
collision of two protons. The laws of conservation,iof

?reprint D-900 (1962)) that tho quantum mechanical resulto of T. ReEge
(Nuovo Cim-, 14, 951 (1959)) cim be generalized to field -,heory if the
partial amplitude of n-n-scattoring is meromorphic with respect to 1. The
integral equations (Chew-Mandelstam type) for the partial amplitudes are
solved by iteration. It is shown that the amplitudes are meromorphic with
respect to 1 in each step of iteration, and that the iteration is
convergent.
