following which It decreased. The leucocytes of
the peripheral blood underwent phasic changes: the
Initial brief leucopenia was replaced by an Initial
leucocytosiss passing Into leucopenia with decrease
of the number of lymphocytes, as well as granulo-
cytes, with morphological changes of the blood
cells, followed by a period of Increase and fluc-
tuation of the leucocyte count (primarily granulo-
cytes); then again a phase of resistant leucopenla,
brought about by decrease of hypersegmented leuco-
cytes, the appearance of myelocytes and manifesta-
tions of degenerative changes In the white blood
cells and erythrophagocytosts. The thrombocyte
