TITLE: Automatic Control and Regulation of the PH in the Production of Ursa Formaldehyde Resins PERIODICAL: Plasticheskiye massy, 1960, No- 5, PP. 56-59 TEXT: Two continuous methods of producing urea formaldehyde resins are briefly described: A) Partial condensation of the urea formaldehyde mix_ ture in the first stirrer, finishing of condensation in a second one at- tached below, at PH w 4-5 t 0.2, and stabilization in the third stirrer at pH - 7-5 - 8.0. B) Production of the urea formaldehyde mixture at a molar ratio of 1 : 2, addition of NaOH until a PH Of 5.2 has been reached, continuous flow of the mixture into the reaction vessel where condensation takes ~Iace at 110-120 0C with addition of diethylene glycol, and stabiliza- tion in a third vessel at PH - 7.0 - 7.5. The following electrodes were used to regulate the pH: 1) glass electrodes with high-ohmic pH-meter system Ts.L.A. (central Automation Laboratory); 2) antimony electrodes of the CY-O (SU-0) type with SM-12 (EPD-12) or 9TTA-32 (EPD-32) potentio- Card 1/2 Automatic Control and Regulation of the pH S/191/60/000/005/015/020 in the Production of Ursa Formaldehyde B004/BO64 Resins meters, the measuring range of which was extended to 200-600 mv in ac- cordance with the instruction given by the Moskovskiy zavod "Manometr" (Moscow I'Manometr" Plant), "Electronic Automatic Potentiometers and Bridges". Stable values of measurement were obtained from tests of glass electrodes at 950C and a pH between 7.15 and 7,,7, from antimony electrodes at the same temperature and PH = 5.1 and 5.6. The reference electrode was in both cases a oalomel electrode in saturated KCI solution connected with the reaction vessel by a semi-permeable membrane. Either an elec- tromagnetic control valve of the 9Cl-5101 (ESI-5101) type or a pneumatic dosing device of stainless steel were used for control. The practical test which was jointly carried out by I~ S. ShentBis, T. S. Ivanovskaya, V. A. Morozov, L. I. Panikova, and V. A. Rodionov confirmed the good ef- ficiency of automatic pH control. It was established that the Martensite conversion mechanism in itself leads to considerable in- crease in coercive force as result of the originating internal hammering. -The -effect of --other -factors -on -thp -- change- in- coercive force -during the -teny- pering of low-carbon-steel, is explained. Necrosis and reparative changes of the pancccatic tissue can be the source of lunctional and morphological changes of the LUMmon duct with secondary cholestasis and its consequences. The authors examined the biliary ducts bynienns of Lv. chblangiography in 31 patients (20 males, 11 funiales) with chronic recurring pancreatitis. This condition was acconipanied by chulelithiasis in about one hall of the cases. The optimum of contrast filling of the liepato- choledochus and of the gallbladder was earlier in the cases with cholelithiasis. In 2/3 of patients with pancreatitis and simultaneous cholelithiasis dilatation off thL. hepatocholedochus was found. mostly of the Y-type (where the parwreuttic juirt of the common duct is narrower in comparison to the dilated suprapancreatic part). On the other hand, narrowing of the hepalocholeduchus was ascertained In 2/3 of patients with chronic pancreatitis without cholelithiasis - the consequence either of spastic and inflammatory changes of the biliary duct sccondary to pan- creatitis or, in later stages. of sclerotic or retractive changes. According to the experience of the authors both the above -mentioned types of hepatocholedochus are, to a considerable extent. characteristic of the 2 groups ofpatients withchron- Ic recurring pancreatitia. Parenchymatous calcifications were a relatively rare finding (9.6%) in the patients with chronic pancreatitis, On the other hand. in 251% of the cases who had undergone a laparotomy. ossification in the laparotoany scar was found. Besides the classical picture of calcium gall-bladder bile with chole- lithiasis and cysticus blockade attention is drawn to the much more ffrequent incomplete pictures of a calcium bile in the gall passages, precipitation at the gall-bladder bottom, and diffferential diagnostic possibilities. included is a report on a ten-year observation of a gall-bladder calcium bile with cholelit'hiasis wh.ich emptied after an expelling-oil cure. hineteen references, including I Polish and 1 Russian. Zpravodaj vzl~', n~, It 1965P 13-18 TOPIC TAGS: temperature distributio n, gas turbine., turbine blade ABSTRACT: In order to refine the computation of parts of an Internal combustion turbine which are subjected to high loads, It to necessary to know the temperature field. To this i end, a device waB constructed at the SVUTT4,?r&1lvIng stationary and nonstationary tem- perature fields. A solution of stationary temlid e fields for the moving blade shows a relatively slight influence of the heat transfer coefficient on the temperature field and on the' flow of temperature. through the blade. On the contrary, the Influence of temperature in the root section of the temperature distribution along the blade length and along the Sur- rounding radiating bodies is considerable, and to essential fron, the standpoint of service life. The nonstationary temperature field of the rotor disk of an internal combustion engine Is substantially affected by the cooling of the disk's faces. The temperature gradients on the outer perimeter are very steep at first, and may reach as much as four times the values' Card 1/2 4 t BILEK, K. *The examination of faults in spinning; improvement of technology and control on the basis of lessons learned from these faults" P. 146, (MAGYAR TEXTILTECHNIKA, No. 5, May 1953, Budapest, Hungary) SO,.
