remained In a 'twilight state., since she was 3Z
years of age. Her condition deteriorated with
each year. A neurological examination revealed:
anisocoria, rotating nystagmus, and paresis of the
lower branch of the facial nerve, The left knee
reflex was higher than the right one, her walk vas
unsteady, swaying. No pathological reflexes were

ABSTRACT: Those ratioavere determined in the vaceinal strain EB.
Proteins and nucloic-acids were extracted from the bomogenate,
followed
by electrophoresis in gel agar, and were then studied under UV
ligbt at
260 and 280 m)b, The prc %in was determined according to Lowry,
DNA by
reaction with dipbanylamine. Distribution of the substances which
absorb UV ligbt after alootropboresis (acetate buffer PH 5.5. ionic
force 0.05) showed two peaks in every case, one mobile and the
otber
immobile. The ratio for the former was 12.5-17, for the latter 4-6.
